Hi, its me again. My update so far:
24/02/15 - Found Mortgage Advisor (MA)
27/02/15 - Meet with MA to discuss my options
04/03/15 - Applied and got AIP (Virgin Money)
07/03/15 - Viewed property
10/03/15 - Made an offer on property £10k below asking price
11/03/15 - Offer accept
12/03/15 - Instructed Solicitor
13/03/15 - Paid for searches (I don't think I should have so am calling them later today to put a hold on the searches until I instruct them to)
13/03/15 - Received Sales memorandum from EA
16/03/15 - Met with MA to do the full mortgage application with Virgin Money
20/03/15 - Called Virgin to find out progress only to find out application has been declined.
20/03/15 - MA tried different lenders for an AIP. Halifax said yes but with 15% deposit (don't have enough money); Aldermore said yes but interest rate was sky high; Skpiton said no; then tried Leeds but could get answer until next working day
23/03/15 - Leeds came back with a no
23/03/15 - MA tried Natwest for an AIP and they said yes. Submitted full application to Natwest
25/03/15 - MA faxed all the required documents to Natwest as they don't accept scanned documents
28/03/15 - Called Netwest directly to get some process and they said its with the underwriters but its looking good so far.0 -
I'll join too - I thought we'd have no problem but with Experian not having updated our current address (even though on Electrol roll and being here nearly 3yrs). Even though we only want a small mortgage over 12 yrs and been with bank for getting on 39 years with plenty of good credit history we're still being made to stew ...
Edit...
...Phew! just had a call to say approved - on a Sunday too!
Good Luck everyone!0 -
So just had a call from the developer and there was a survey performed this morning. I've heard people saying with Nationwide they've had a text to confirm when this will happen but I had nothing?
Any idea how long I'd have to wait after valuation before mortgage offer?0 -
Updated timeline:
17/3 - Offer accepted and accepted offer on our current property.
19/3 - Full application sent to broker with payslips, P60s, bank statements, proof of gifted deposit form.
20/3 - Application sent by broker to nationwide (next day).
24/3 - The buyers survey was done on our current property.
25/3 - chased adviser for update on application.
25/3 - Credit score passed, Affordability passed. Initially wanted proof of bonuses for last two years. Broker asked them to re-key without bonuses as we should pass without, which we did so no longer required. Valuation instructed on our purchase (should happen in 4-5 days). Passed to senior underwriter (probably another 3-4 days until he gets to it).
28/3 - Land Registry plans received from solicitors to confirm plot requiring searches, instructed searches (also confirmation that draft papers have been received from sellers solicitors)
28/3 - T's & C's received in post from surveyors to sign and return
Just waiting to hear on survey date and mortgage offer now, then we can start to dare thinking about exchange and completion dates!0 -

We've had no texts to this point either...0 -
Just found out my broker is on holiday for a week, I'm assuming as he is a one man band no-one will be able to update me on the case until he returns0

I can bear to update on this thread now...New application to Accord submitted last week. Fee for valuation and the application fee taken today. Here's hoping for a more simple process than last time.0

Here's my current timeline, and whilst I don't think there is anythin Nationwide can pick up on, it's still a nerve racking time nonetheless.
06/03/2015 - Our house listed
09/03/2015 - Offer accepted from FTB fior £1.5k less than asking price.
23/03/2015 - View property for ourselves, offer £5k less than ask and offer accepted.
27/03/2015 - Meet with MB who has already had most of our information and has got us a DIP with Nationwide, and submits full application.
27/03/2015 - Text received from Nationwide to say application received.
30/03/2015 - Text from Nationwide to say that valuation and survey been booked, and EA confirms valuation to take place on 07/04/2015 (a week from today, which I think is good ocnsidering the 2 BH's in between).
So that's where I am at the moment, just really keeping everything crossed that everything is fine as we love the house. Just had a call from our selling agent to say that our buyers' mortgage valuation will be next Weds too.0 -
