    Thanks Zoom!

yes similarly worried they’ll have issue with me taking the grant. However I’m busier than I’ve ever been now! We do have an account we both pay into and that’s where the bills come out from so if anything it’ll be that one I suspect. Did you submit tax return info via sa302s or did you have an accountant document?

Really appreciate your taking the time to respond thankyou
MA downloaded two dox for each year off my HMRC account. I did phone HMRC for official sa302s but we never used them. I do my own accounts.
  • So here is how it has gone for us…..

    02/05 MIP with Mojo Mortgages

    22/06 1st House viewing

    09/07 2nd Viewing

    10/07 Offer put in

    14/07 Offer rejected

14/07 Offer made and accepted by vendor

15/07 Full Mortgage Application went into Coventry BS

15/7 Soft Credit Search done by Coventry BS

22/07 P60 and POA for my partner from CBS requested and sent the same day

24/07 MB said that our application was with the underwriters

31/07 Drivers license requested by CBS this was put in the same day

11/08 Notified of valuation booked for 18/08

MB explained that it looks as if the lender has all the information they need, and the valuation should be the last bit. Does anyone know if its usual practice for the application to go to the underwriters before valuation?

Fingers crossed I’ll hear something next week.  This waiting has been excruciating, not to be too dramatic!

Just put mortgage application through today. I've gone with nationwide as I was with them previously and found them easy to deal with.
It's a 30% LTV mortgage so hoping it will be OK as its affordable. Only potential negative I can see is my job which is charity manager and with todays uncertainty may be seen as risky. I've remained working throughout with same pay so hopefully its all OK
Really happy I got my mortgage offer today from Nationwide!

22/07 - view house, offer put in
    24/07 - offer accepted
    25/07 - mortgage application in
27/07 - text from NW to say received and valuation done same day
    31/07 - mortgage offer received
Far quicker than I thought it would be

Now to get the survey booked...
Woohoo survey throwed up nothing scary! Now to wait for the searches and hope the vendor cracks on with clearing the house as its not lived in at the moment.
Starting to hope keys could be mine in Sept (I know everything will prob go wrong now🙈)

Well Santander have comeback for more information on my jobs. Really quizzing about the self-employment. My 19/20 tax return is lower as I had to have time off after an injury, so hopefully this will calm them down about that. We have sickness and accident insurance but we chose not to claim as we knew it was a short-term issue with no ongoing problems. Then questions about how I work two jobs, hours, this year's projected self employment income blah blah blah.

Beginning to think the offer will be lower than we need.which will be frustrating. Valuation is being done today, expecting that to come back ok, think it really will be down to my jobs.

I believe Coventry like to underwrite up front.
  • I find this whole thing absolutely unbearable, the waiting is horrendous!  My timeline, with Halifax, is:
    AIP - 09.07.20
    Offer Accepted on house: 28.07.20
Contacted Halifax to start application: 28.07.20
Full application done and credit check passed:  29.07.20 (told at this point it would go to the valuers and I would hear within 2-3 days)
Chased advisor at Halifax as heard nothing: 05.08.20 (advised at this point the valuation request had been cancelled and he would find out why...?)
Advisor got back to me and told me valuation was cancelled by accident and he has sent it back through - 07.08.20

Honestly the wait is just the worst thing ever.  I suffer from anxiety anyway, but this is literally consuming me to the point I can't think of anything else.... I'm also selling so waiting on my buyers mortgage to get sorted etc so we can conclude on my sale.

I'm in Scotland so hoping that Halifax will accept the Home Report and it will be a relatively simple process but I just keep worrying that I'll be rejected...
Update - just heard from Halifax that my mortgage is approved and the offer is on its way! :) What a relief!  Now I just have to wait for my buyers sorting theirs out.....

I’m glad it’s been approved and you can move along the process. We are still waiting, we’ve had valuation done last week but still haven’t heard anything.

    31/07/20 Offer accepted on house
Spent a week faffing around with Equifax because they messed up my credit file over a simple Electoral Roll correction.
10/08/20 Got an updated AIP & booked a mortgage appointment
12/08/20 Halifax mortgage appointment & application submitted (2 hours after Equifax fixed my credit file). Payslips submitted, ID checked at branch. Soft & hard credit searches.

    Fingers crossed...
