credit file on the 1st of August but our MA there is a 10 working day wait for the underwriters at the minute. We haven’t received any text message from NW since the valuation was booked in. Hoping the fact a hard search was done on my credit file means things are getting closer to an final answer. How long did people wait from hard search to getting an offer?
It's been 8 days since my application was received and I've not even had the valuation text yet... NW must be really inundated with applications at the moment.NW timescales:
DIP: 13/7
App: 16/7
Valuation: 6/8
NW offer: 20/80 -

So I’ve called NW direct and they’ve said they are awaiting further documentation. Chased MB this morn asking if she’s uploaded it - no response. Called NW again and they’ve said it’s still not been uploaded but will review with 24hrs once MB has done it. Chased her again - still no response 🤷🏻♀️NW timescales:
DIP: 13/7
App: 16/7
Valuation: 6/8
NW offer: 20/80 -
We have just got our mortgage offer from HSBC! Details: 90% LTV, FTB, full time employed with no impact over covid, other applicant student midwife, both have excellent credit ratings with very little other debt, went through a mortgage broker.
Timeline:
21/7 - DIP from HSBC through MB
22/7 - Offer made and accepted on house
24/7 - All information provided to MB
25/7 - Failed to get submission through to HSBC
27/7 - Application made, EA called later to say valuation booked for 29/7
28/7 - MB says it has gone to underwrite
29/7 - Valuation carried out
03/8 - Offer made
Much faster than expected, very happy. Good luck to everyone else!

HSBC want remedial works done before I move in. But I don't legally own the property so in theory can't pay for it. So I'll have to ask the buyers to pay and likely put my offer back up to the asking price. Sigh.0

SierraRomeo30 said:Well fed up, got an update from MB today saying Accord have advised it could be the end of the week before we hear anything because processing times have increased again. This will be the 3rd week in a row that they have said this. The MB have stressed the urgency and asked that it be looked at by the underwriters as a priority but no idea if this will make a difference. Our vendors are miffed and my nerves are just about hanging on because of worrying about them pulling out.
You could possibly ask your broker to email the underwriter again and copy in the business development manager. My broker did this and it got things sorted extremely quickly. They pulled the case to the top of the pile due to the timescale and the fact they overlooked the valuation being on the system for a couple of weeks. Overall we were 6 weeks to the day.0 -

Just reading the comment from SierraRomeo30... Do people generally wait until after their mortgage application is successful before going ahead with the searches? £300 or so risk.First time buyers. Mortgage in principle. We have an offer accepted with an understanding everyone would like to move promptly. Have a solicitor with all paperwork in hand and surveyor lined up but not booked in. On of us is self employed and the mortgage application we’ve been advised could take a while.0
