3 mobile cancellation/PAC code
Someone please help me. I've got myself in a right state. My 24 month contract ends on 17th August 2013. I went into store to look at upgrade deals but it was closed for refurbishment. So I then tried to upgrade online - it wouldn't let me. So I then had to ring them. I have spoken to 4 different people since Monday. The last one (a manager supposedly) actually had me in tears by the end of the call. I was on the phone for over an hour. They could not give me a decent upgrade deal. So I told them I wanted to cancel (about 30 times). I have never raised my voice before but I did this time. I had to demand they cancelled my contract. They kept trying to fob me off saying no other network would offer me this that. I kept saying NO NO NO. I want to cancel. And they just wouldn't do it. I had to hang up in the end as I was getting nowhere. Yesterday I magically received a PAC code through. I've read on the website this is to move your number elsewhere? Does this then cancel my contract. When should I use the PAC code? As close to the 17th as possible (it says it expires on the 15th). I don't want to enter this rolling contract thing. I want my contract to end like it should on the 17th of August. Please help!

You give the PAC to a new provider who migrate your number.
Your old contact will then be closed, but you may be charged 30 days fee in lieu of notice (and there no easy way around it if you want migrate your number.
The PAC code is valid 30 days if you don't use it your contract continues. If you really want to move get a new contract or PAYG number with another network, give them the PAC and pay three the small fee you'll be charged to move your number across.
If you want it to end without moving your number, put it in writing, send it to the address on your bill by recorded post and ask for confirmation.I want my contract to end like it should on the 17th of August0 -
Whenever I want to cancel a contract but am not bothered about keeping the number I just tell them that I have been given a work phone so I don't need a personal one any more.
This usually stops all the desperate attempts to keep you as a customer.0
