Hmm problems. I'd write down (although I'm sure you already have) your ORIGINAL mail.mydomainname.co.uk, username (with the bit after @ too) and password.
Then just try and get the Sky stuff working (why on Earth are they using Yahoo mail now?!)
I assume you have a Sky email address (and password)?

EDIT. if you have no intention of using Sky (incoming) email then it doesn't matter whether you use POP or IMAP.
And then when that's working try your ORIGINAL incoming mail server.
PS. I'm sure you know that with Outlook 2007 you can have multiple email accounts so you can have the Sky account and ORIGNAL running in parallel. If you put your general location in your Profile, somebody here may be able to come and help you.0 -

Just a thought, you have paid your domain renewal/hosting bills, haven't you? Theres no reason why you can't access your website through IE, it is completely unconnected unless your web/mail host has an issue that is affecting both.
The info in that link is valid.0 -
Am in contact with my hosting provider....
Has asked me to log in and unblock my IP just in case its been blocked due to the activity.....
I found it hadn't been blocked so the tail continues0 -
You can't use Sky to send e mails using your own domain name.
Go to www.skyuser.co.uk and register to use their outgoing smtp server.0
