You may have to download Windows Live Mail from here
http://windows.microsoft.com/en-gb/windows-live/essentials-other#essentials=overviewother
Have used for several years, works well.
Good luck0 -
What sort of email address are you using?0

You are not trying to use Orange email are you? You lost the facility when you changed ISP to Sky.That gum you like is coming back in style.0

I have my own website that is hosted
The email addresses i use end with the website address
I am still recieving emails, just not able to send them
am using outlook 20070 -
There are separate routes for incoming and outgoing mail. I would suspect some kind of anti-virus or other security measure is blocking the outgoing connection.0

Easy one.
ISP's restrict their SMTP servers (for you to send your emails through), to people that are using their broadband. It knows whether you are using their broadband when you connect, by the IP address you connect from.
Previously, you would have had outlook configured to use Oranges SMTP server while you were on their broadband. Now you've swapped to Sky, it is still attempting to send out via Orange's SMTP server. However, as they can see you are no longer an orange customer, it refuses to let you do this.
You need to update your mail account settings with your new SMTP server.
Outlook 2007? Open outlook, go to tools, accounts. Select your account (you may have more than one?) and go to properties or something similar. You'll see an option for SMTP / Outgoing mail server (or similar).
Change this to Skys SMTP server address, which is: smtp.tools.sky.com
OK all of that, and you should be good to go!
Alternatively, as it seems like you have your own web domain/email hosting, they probably supply their own SMTP server (usually something like mail.yourdomain.com / smtp.yourdomain.com) that you could use instead. but you would need to additionally setup plain text authentication with it.0 -
My outgoing mail is set as follows
mail.mydomainname.co.uk
I have set the outgoing to
smtp.tools.sky.com
also the outgoing is set to 465 and incoming to 995, although think the incoming will need to be kept at what it was originally set to 105???0 -
Your outgoing SMTP port needs to be 25.
Incoming I would leave alone if you're still receiving your emails without problems.0 -

Doesn't surprise me - Sky online hell desk will tell you how to setup things around their service, and only their service. As you're using your own hosted email service, they won't have a clue.
You can try a system restore, but I'm not 100% sure it will affect outlook account settings. Just try it I suppose, it won't do any harm!0
