I wonder if anyone can help. I am looking for an easy to use mobile phone. Requirements are that it has to bluetooth as i am in the car alot and would be a bonus if it had or could have sat nav on it. Other than that it can be quite basic in other areas .At the moment i have an Imate Jam which is serving the purpose but I find it is quite a chunk to have in my pocket. Any advice and suggestions would be gratefully received.

N95 has to be favourite, you'll need something with a decent sized screen. Available from T-Mobile with Co-Pilot S/W which is in theory better than the inbuilt S/W. Me I'm waiting for TomTom to release a patch for TT6 so I can use it on the N95 and its internal GPS

  • If you search the MSE site, you'll find lots of chat about the deal that Virgin Mobile are doing on both new and refurbished Lobster 700TV phones. They can be had from £19.99 (refurb - no credit or SIM) to £49.99 (with 200mins credit & SIM card).

It is a Smartphone, running Windows Mobile 5 and has Bluetooth (as well as 5 channels of TV and fifty + channels of DAB Radio!).

I have mine running both TomTom and Route 66 using a Navman Spin 100 bluetooth GPS receiver (from TotalPDA for about £15!).

Spend a little time trawling the Lobster 700TV threads here and save yourself a fortune - compared to an N95.

The Lobster can be unlocked to use any SIM (except 3) for nothing - directly from Virgin customer services - as soon as you have spent £30 on call credit.

    Hope that helps.

It's a bit confusing that VM's site doesn't seem to mention it uses WM5? :o

Could be just what we are looking for at home :)

use code 14000 at the checkout and it will knock another £10 off the price.

code 10000 might also work (for 25% off) but i cant confirm that because i havent tried it yet.

If I remember correctly, I did need to do the application unlock first. Other than that, I don't remember any problems with the program or maps.
