Received a letter from Vodafone today, They imformed me that they are going to cancel my contract (as I put a stop on the direct debit) and I have to pay the remainder of my contract although I've yet to use the sim card and have imformed them by post and e-mail within the allowed cancellation time. Anyone know what steps to take next before they cancel. Cheers.0

1. Contact the rep as above. See if she can get you off the hook
If that fails - or even as an alternative
2. Be pragmatic. You want a mobile service for the next 12 months? Then pay £5 - £10 to get your handset unlocked or buy an unlocked one from CPW for £0.99p plus £10 for a PAYG sim you can use in emergencies. (Get an Orange PAYG sim and it will pay for itself with Orange Wednesdays). Get back on to Voda, agree to reinstate DD and see it through. Believe me it will be the cheapest/easiest solution in the long run.0 -
Hi there, I hadn't noticed the Vodafone REP Heidi had replied to my thread when I last posted. Anyway, the lovely Heidi has looked into it and there was a misunderstanding and she has cancelled the contract dead. Many thanks for the answers and also to Heidi. Cheers, Sudden Impact. :T0

That wont be a problem, call Vodafone and ask for your PAC code, port out to any network which will cancel the contract as soon as you use the PAC.
You will get one final bill which will include the 30 days notice.
As soon as you are sure the final bill has been paid and there is nothing further owing, you can cancel your direct debit.0
