It's a longshot but can anyone recommend a decent 40-42 inch full backlit LED (not Plasma) that doesn't have 3D and the Smart TV option?
I'm aware that this is fairly standard across the board but I want an LED TV without these things.
Thanks

why exactly would you not want them ?
afterall, as you say, they are pretty standard so finding one without it will be difficult and you might end up needing to buy some really old model0 -
Considering most manufacturers provide these options as standard your going to struggle to find one, you don't need to use the additional functions if they are built into the TV0

For LED always buy Samsung, the rest are pants. Just don't use the 3d & smart tv options0 -
Samsung are the only company that makes decent LEDLCD screens? Don't think so! All the big brands, even plasma kings Panasonic, make good ones.0

Of course not, but they make the best LED/LCD TVs, they also rival Panasonic for plasma. Sony/LG/others blow in comparison in price vs performance/features.0 -
Yip i agree with zarf2007 i have a led 37in Samsung and its miles better than any tv i have ever had. Its a smart tv but i just don't use a smart option and sent the dongle back to Amazon and got my money back total waste of money in my opinion!'HAIL HAIL' :dance:0

Samsung are good - I agree.
Samsung are the only TV you should ever consider - I disagree.
Samsung make bad, buggy, expensive TVs just like every other manufacturer. You need to do your research before you buy, by specific model, not just by blindly buying a brand name. AVForums is excellent for user feedback on TVs you may be interested in.
I've got Panasonic, Sharp, Samsung and Toshiba flatscreens, and would not blindly recommend any brand over the other.0
