flight delays

can anyone please advise me, I was on a BA flight from Heathrow to Paris which was delayed by around 35 - 40 mins but the delay caused me to miss my train which was the last to my destination of the day therefore causing me to have to rebook the train at a much higher cost for the next morning and to necessitate an overnight stay in a hotel at the airport. I was told at Heathrow that if I asked for help when I arrived at Paris it would be available, which was not the case, do I have any claim to get my extra costs back? Thanks

No - your contract with the airline was to take you to the airport - which they did (albeit 40 mins late). Onward travel is not their responsibility - sorry. Claim it from your travel insurance.0
