The crystal one I bought needed to be run under a tap before applying (dont know if they all do) so I used to get water running down my sides before I had even got dressed.....
Didnt seem to matter how wet/damp it was when I applied it.
It ended up in the bin, which is a real shame because I think its a brilliant concept.0 -

That's a shame, I wonder why they stopped doing them. I used to use their men's stick deodorant and it worked quite well. Didn't smell too 'manly' eitherfozziebeartoo wrote: »The crystal one I bought needed to be run under a tap before applying (dont know if they all do) so I used to get water running down my sides before I had even got dressed.....

Yes they need to be dampened, or applied to damp skin.0 -

That's going to happen in this heat anyway, regardless of what deodorant or anti perspirant you use.
What I like about the crystal ones is that they don't stain your clothes or make them smell like anti perspirants do.0 -
Hasn't happened yet, but I do antiperspirant at least 3 times a day

I have been using Salt of the Earth from Holland and Barrett for almost two years - the same initial stick! It worked well from the start and I then bought two more in the next buy one- get one for a penny promotion and at this rate of usage they will last me half a lifetime! I agree that they are somewhat challenged by this continual hot weather, but let's face it, for 99% of the time crystal works very effectively, doesn't mark your clothes and doesn't hurt the environment. Win win as far as I am concerned, and saves a fortune to boot.Solar Suntellite 250 x16 4kW Afore 3600TL dual 2KW E 2KW W no shade, DN15 March 14

I used to find that progressively stronger and stronger anti perspirants did little to stop excessive sweating (as in could feel it running down my arm!). For some reason I tried Pitrok and have not had the same problem since - obviously a reasonable amount of sweating when I'm working hard in hot conditions, but nothing like the excessive rivers I used to have. My suspicion was that the antiperspirants were irritating in some way and setting off the sweating - may just be me being weird but I'd be wary of going back now.Adventure before Dementia!0

I'm not a total meanie - it's done before work, on lunch break, and after work - then I have a shower when I get in
I can't stand people who just sit at their desk and spray any form of scent

Fair enough. Better than the other extreme, I guess - can't understand this new trend of advertising "72 hr" deodorants.0

Wonder if they're marketed at festival-goers?
