Parking Eye letters - help please !

Options
Hello can you help me please? I have a parking charge from parking eye for a stay in the Meridian car park Havant. Before I found this forum, I raised an appeal on line as follows:
"I was in the car park at the time stated. I parked my car and made my way directly to the pay machine. I entered my registration number and paid £1.20 for 2 hours parking. The machine accepted the payment and I waited for a ticket which didn't come out. The display returned to Enter Registration, the money wasn't returned and as I am not required to display the ticket in the car, I assumed all was well and went shopping. I wish I had pushed the buzzer and spoken to someone but hindsight is a wonderful thing. I consider that I have paid the correct amount for my stay at the car park. The only other possibility is that I incorrectly input my registration number and wonder if you could check for a mismatch shortly after my arrival time 11:48 on 20/06/2013.
Please check your records and let me know if this is what happened."

Now I have had a letter saying that they can't find anything resembling my reg so want me to pay up.

I still consider that I have paid - my money was not returned. What is the next step? Should I write to the Meridian centre management asking them to waive the charge ?

I would welcome your advice please.

Yes that's a good move, but don't ask, demand.

Did their reply contain a POPLA code?

Presumably they gave you a POPLA code so do not waste it, read other threads and draft your full appeal for POPLA (let's see it please so we can help). At the same time email or write a complaint to the landowner about the aggressive ticketing of their agent which has put you and your family off ever returning.

POPLA examples on these threads, you nee to go heavily on the signage issues and requirements to maintain their machinery as well as all the usual points you'll see repeated on other threads:

This one accuses a PPC of not doing a proper manual check of P&D payments & car regs:

These ones have a lot about signage requirements and legal case law (= a good thing for POPLA):

In each case you have to read the whole thread to se the final draft POPLA appeal. Here are a few more to read & copy from, linked on threads:
