Equifax and their staff are utterly incompetent and don't understand their obligations on running a CRA.

A bigger shower of sheet would be hard to find.

Equifax have now said that they cannot remove my fathers entry as the names are too similar but that I should not worry as it wont affect any application for credit or my credit score! off to the ICO I go.
COPD sufferers need nebulisers to help with breathing at home and free up hodpital beds. There is just one nebuliser available on the NHS for every 300 sufferers. A nebuliser costs just £60. Please consider donating to COPD nurses.

That is just complete bull. Of course they can remove incorrect data that is not yours from your report. In fact they have a legal duty to do so.

Take the complaint to the FOS as well as the ICO. That could be quicker and will cost Equifax £550 for the pleasure. ;)

They said that to my oh. So he said he'd be complaining to the fos/ico and be expecting costs back.

Within days of the initial contact they changed it.

Proves Equifax advisers are full of BS.

But we knew that anyway. ;)

Clowns. Looking forward to your eventual response - do come back and updatr this thread when it's sorted.

It's almost a shame that there is no Equifax rep on here but I suspect they'd do a James Jones and try to convince us that their 'scores' are wonderful.

It's obvious why they don't have a rep here. They would not be able to justify their company's errors and disregard for regulation and law.

I presume they have some kind of licence to act as a CRA? Because the things I read about them here, I am beginning to think they should be shut down.

It is not the errors which seem to be the problem so much as the intransigence about putting them right.
You might as well ask the Wizard of Oz to give you a big number as pay a Credit Referencing Agency for a so-called 'credit-score'
