Great deal on Vodafone

Despite Vodafone being one of the more pricey mobile phone providers out there, I have managed to get a cracking deal on the iPhone 5 today.

I phoned up the 'thinking of leaving us team' who offered an iPhone 5 16GB with Unlimited texts, unlimited minutes and 1GB of internet for £37 per month with a £11 one-off cost. Not bad I thought, and told him to ring back at 16.30.

In the meanwhile, I looked on Carphonewarehouse and they could offer the same upgrade deal without the £11 fee.

Having not heard back from Vodafone by 16:45, I called the upgrades team, who offered me an even better deal!

iPhone 5 16GB Black
Unlimited minutes
Unlimited texts
Unlimited internet for three months (1GTB thereafter)

£33 per month
No up-front cost
Delivered by tomorrow morning.

Not a bad deal for an iPhone 5! Ok, it is a 'nearly new' phone, but if I am not happy with it I can send it back and request a new one!

Epic or what.

Not bad but Three are probably a bit cheaper on refurb contracts:

If I wanted a refurb though I'd probably look to buy the phone outright and go for a sim only plan.
  • Vodafone 3G data coverage looks very patchy on their coverage checker, hope it works OK in your location as your contract appears to be for 24 months... Also, 1GB per month is not a lot of data, my OH uses her iPhone to listen to the radio in her office via 3G as her radio reception is poor, I often watch Youtube and iPlayer videos via 3G, both of which eat between 3 and 5 GB in a typical month.

Also, if data is important to you beware the iPhone 5 doesn't support the frequencies recently bought by O2 and Vodafone for their 4G in the UK.
