Hi all,
Been pricing up moving the home phone and broadband to BT to get BT Sport for free. The sums add up like this:
Sky:
BB Unlimited - £7.50
SkyTalk Anytime - £19.50
BT Sports - £12.00
Total: £39.00 a month
BT:
Broadband - £16.00
Call Package - £22.45
BT Sports - £0.00
Total: £38.45 a month
So, only 55p a month cheaper however BT are offering 6 months free broadband (worth £96) and a £50 Sainsbury's voucher, so £146 saving there.
I ring Sky up and explain the above and that we wish to move, and they reviewed our packages with them. We have:
Sky World TV pack
HD pack
Multiroom
ESPN
SkyTalk Anytime
BB Unlimited
Bills on average £140 a month (as 08 numbers called etc) - so not a small spender.
The offer to keep us? £7 off a month for 3 months.
I have taken it initially and they offered us a MAC straight away. Account been active for 15+ years on top package.
The £7 doesn't reset any commitment period so will think about it but am seriously considering switching the phone and internet.
Not obviously seen as a valuable customer.....
Anyone else got an offer to counter BT Sport?

I spent 25 years in the mobile industry, from 1994 to 2019. Worked for indies as well as the big networks, in their stores also in contact centres. I also hold a degree in telecoms engineering so I like to think I know what I’m talking about 😂
