That's also the problem when car mags publish depreciation percentages, they are always based on MRP.
Likewise you should be able to get approx 10% off common or garden Mercs or BMWs.
Take into account a 'complimentary spec upgrade' or a 'manufacturers finance contribution' and you're at 15% no probs.
My wifes car was £35K list, and she got it for £29,500 after the complimentary upgrade, discount and manufacturers finance contribution were taking into account. Thats 16% off list.0 -

Both these quotes are excellent examples of how the big german manufacturers are masters of perception.
A merc or BMW neednt cost you much more (if anything more) than a mainstream brand.0 -
Gotta Top Trumps you there, I got 41% off a new Vauxhall and didn't even have to take out their finance.
Btw I do agree with you that certain more expensive cars can work out cheaper due to depreciation than an everyday Vauxhall/Ford. But a small city car (aygo/107/C1) will depreciate less than a big engined model and a sought after popular car like an A1 will depreciate less than that.0 -

Good job on the Vauxhall!
Yup. Not all Vauxhalls incur a 41% discount and not all BMWs / Mercs can be got at a decent price.
Its about working out whats best for you as an individual.0 -
