As it potetnially concerns contacting the council.....thought i would post here...
Well , i got throught to warmfront--> then Gas safe ---> then left a message with CORGI as it was in early 2009 , apparently the engineer doesnt have to notify gassafe (or CORGI) back then if he installed a boiler , but he was supposed to notify building control , to sign it off
According to gassafe who have acces to CORGIS records , there is no record of any works at Grans , even though i am sat here with the GAS SAFETY install sheet , duly signed by the engineer etc
The engineer is from newcastle 300 miles from here , so presumably he was installing a few in the area , how many didnt get signed off i wonder!!
Anyway , i can pay to have it retrospectivley signed off , and claim it directly from the guy , which sounds like a pain in the ar*e really , but i am aware if i do that , i will invalidate any indemnity the purchases may be planning to take out ? although not sure how that works , surley they will just continue servicing it like we did ?Never, under any circumstances, take a sleeping pill and a laxative on the same night.0 -
Gas forum, or plumbing HERE.
Depends what your/the buyers' concern is:
* Enforcement action by council? Not after 12 months has passed
* poor/dangerous installation? If boiler has been serviced since installation by a CORGI/GasSafe engineer, there should be service sheets, which would highlight any concerns. Or an inspection report could be done for around £60.
* manufacturers warranty invalidated? Unlikely to be still valid though it might be a 5 year warranty....0 -
I agree with all the above GM , its been serviced since 2009 each year , it is in good working order , and no warranty i wouldnt have thought
I think i might be worrying over nothing , i have sent sols the service sheets and install sheets etc
Time to stop chasing my tail till i hear something from the sols i thinkNever, under any circumstances, take a sleeping pill and a laxative on the same night.0 -
Update from Sols , they say the gas service record is defintley helpful and have forwarded it on to buyers sols , they say buyer may request re-inspection or indemnity , not sure how the indeminity would work on a 4 year old boiler , indemnity against what?!Never, under any circumstances, take a sleeping pill and a laxative on the same night.0
