Paying forecourt price for effectively private sale car with no tax or MoT might seem overpriced.

Against that, you have to put some value on 100% confidence in the history of the car. In my book, that would probably be worth the price difference. People buy cars from forecourts for many reasons, but often because it's easier and/or they feel it's lower risk.

You (presumably) know the car hasn't any unknown accidents, or unresolved problems, you know it's service history, and a genuine reason for sale. Try to put a price on the peace of mind that history will give you.

Forecourt price for the car with low miles is about £6k so the offer is below that.

Talking it through with the sisters regarding the MOT would be a better option. Or just take it for a MOT at a council garage £33 to find out if it's needs much work doing. If it passes, then it's at least one less thing to worry about.
