    Morning all,

Should have been out at work with dh but not feeling great, Totm and a stiff shoulder, just a bit pooped with the weather so I shall have a quiet day at home.
Washing in and another lot on the line. At least hubby has a busy day. Hopefully my eBay stuff is doing ok will check in a second.
We are over run with strawberries despite having them every evening for pud so shall make a couple of strawberry tarts today.
My DS has finished college now and has a couple of weeks before he works at the hotel so no doubt lots of lazing around, was at an end of term party last night so won't see him until lunch I'm sure.
No tea to to cook as such, the boys are off to circuit training later so they will have sausage butties when they get back.
I'm planning to fast tomorrow, have an appointment for a check up on my knee in the morning and root filling in the afternoon:eek: so hopefully won't have time to think about food.
Better get on, have a good day all x

    Good Morning
Had a quiet day yesterday sitting on my deck. My best friend came over for a few hours and OH appeared at 7pm. He stayed for a few hours, put me to bed and went back home again. 150 mile round trip. Still he says it's worth it to see me:T

Goi8ng over Post Office in a minute on my scooter, then that will be it for the day. I have no energy at all, everything has to be done very slowly, which is not me at all.:( I suppose I have to accept it at the moment.

Tried to ring OT's yesterday, no answer. I have decided to cave in and ask if I can have a walk in shower. I have got a bath lift at the moment, but am finding it increasingly hard to use, so will get them to come and assess me again.

Had a Tesco shop yesterday and the lovely delivery boy took it all into the kitchen and unpacked it. He even offered to put it away! I gave him £2 which he didn't want, but I thought that was lovely.:T

Anyway, have a good day all!

    Another lovely day.

We are going to Bluewater today, need to get some new underwear etc ahead of our holiday, and will get sun lotion too.

I have a £10 M&S voucher and my Boots points, so this will be a help. We'll also have lunch out, so no cooking today.

Hilstep glad to hear your are back home

    Have a good day everyone

Looks like another scorcher. Washing is on the line, dishwasher unloaded and made breakie for DD as she has to go to London today for a meeting.

DH has driven dd to the station in the courtesy car and is not back yet. Oldest made chillie con carne yesterday so we had it for evening meal with posh rice and strawberries and yoghurt for afters.

Peas are growing well in back garden but I never see any to cook with as DH eats them straight from the pod. I got some mint in a small pot and DH has planted both of them in a larger container so I have some for new potatoes, dips or drinks. My experiment of freezing little plastic cups of water, then removing from cup, place in clean tea towel and belting with rolling pin to produce ice for drinks is working quite well. We have some quite big shards of ice though  I got fed up trekking to supermarket to find there were no bags of ice left and if there was any having to rush home before it melted in the heat.

Glad Hester is all right and had a look at her new blog last night.

Thanks Molly for taking the time and effort to reassure us all as quite few of us were getting worried.

No idea what to cook today but we have some a la leftovers that will be altered a bit for lunch and might make potato cakes or sweet potato burgers for tea unless I see good YS bargains later.

DH was stunned when I produced a joint of beef from freezer that should have been nearly £8, added carrots, onions and potatoes, casseroled it and then told him I only paid £1.79 for it a few months ago.

Best deal I got was four salmon fillets in a pack, originally £10, reduced to £5, then again - finally 99pence a pack so grabbed several and bunged in freezer.

Hugs to all and be careful in the heat.

You have got to take things slowly, rest and let your body heal itself which it can't do if you are trying to bounce around like Tigger. I know you don't want to give in and there are things that have to be done but most things can wait or be thought around.
Glad the delivery lad was so helpful and good luck with the trip out and the future walk in shower (fingers crossed).

    Morning All,

Very hot here today too, just wish I wasn't stuck in the office. Still another 76 days and I will be free for ever! :j

Funny story from yesterday. DGS was out the back painting, though more was going won the flagstones and himself than the paper! :D My wife gave him a tomato and a banana (both of which he loves) and he proceeded to paint the tomato red and the banana yellow! They had to be rescued quickly before he tried to eat them! :D

Have a good day everyone.

    Morning All

Another nice day here, not the scorching sunshine you all seem to be having but it's not raining! 3 loads of washing on the line which should be dry by lunchtime, a little ironing to do but that can wait.

Starting to gather things ready for our holiday and realised this morning that the EHIC cards are out of date! I have applied for new ones but it said they take between 7 and 10 days. Oops.

Elona - Envious of your bargains!
Hilstep - Take things easy, it must have been lovely to see your friend.
    Julie - Feel better soon.
Tru - Laughing at you wanting a day off from Mr Tru!

Right, off to sort some of the holiday stuff. Take care. XX

    Morning all,

I forget how hot it is outside when i'm in my air conditioned bubble I call home but I was soon bought into reality this morning when I pegged out the washing. I was only out there a few minutes and couldn't wait to get back inside.

Thinking of my men who are working 12 hour shifts at the moment. I know they are struggling to cope with the heat. They didn't get back till nearly 9pm last night and were showered and in bed for 10pm as they were both shattered.

Nothing else to add from me really, all is well. Eldest daughter messaged me at 5am (forgetting the time difference) and youngest daughter is still sunning herself in the garden.

Housework. I'm doing as little as possible today. I need to post a letter at some point but it can wait.

Pie and chips for tea..... no doubt hubby will complain but i'll just drown his chips in a sea of gravy and he can try and mash them.:rotfl:

Don't forget to drink lots friends and have a good day.

It's frustrating having to do everything at a snail's pace - I'm the same, and it drives me demented! Thankfully I can manage ok with the bath lift - a good soak in hot water helps get my recalcitrant joints moving a bit, and I wouldn't have that with a shower.

Poor Sassy doesn't know where to put herself with this heat. Neither do I, for that matter! We're sharing the electric fan at the moment (don't have the luxury of air-con) and I've been putting ice cubes in her water bowl. She had cruciate ligament surgery in April, so walkies are just 10-15 mins, three times a day. She walks very nicely with the mobility buggy. We met Tasha (local elderly collie cross) this morning, so she's made a friend.:o

I had some sad news yesterday; darling little Mary has taken her journey across the Rainbow Bridge. We lit a candle for her last night. She may have been hard work, but she was the sweetest natured little dog you could ever wish to meet, and a very special girl.

Salad for dins tonight.... again. *rolls eyes* Mr LW is perfectly happy to eat the same thing night after night, but I'm alternating between hard-boiled eggs and cold veggie sausages, so that it's not always exactly the same. If I can summon the energy, I make make up a little pot of raita to go with tonight's dins, just for a change.:o

Iced lemonade (made with proper lemons);) in a jug in the fridge, help yourselves.:D
If your dog thinks you're the best, don't seek a second opinion.;)

    Afternoon peeps :D

Went food shopping and spent £89 in Aldi  OK to be fair I bought a load of meat and started replenishing my stock cupboard (have been a bit slack with that lately not really cooking :o). Plus I shall make it stretch more than a week so probably not too bad all things considered.
It took me ages to put away :o I hate that part of shopping.

I am hiding out in the house as I find it too hot outside. Poor Luna is looking at me with a very p*ssed off look to say I'm bored. Me too pooch. Missing my afternoon walks with her as its too hot :( it's too hot to play ball in garden so she's lying about shedding hair everywhere :eek:

Tea is gonna be bacon, courgette pasta bake with crime fraiche. Don't want another salad tonight ;)

No other news. House sale ticking along. Had to order a copy of marriage cert as ours has done a runner

Ooh naughty Luna has just nicked a packet of bread rolls off the worktop  in the dog house now.....

Hugs and spoons all round x

LW was sorry to hear about Mary xx Hope she's with lots of doggy chums over the rainbow bridge x

RR hope little dogs eye is OK x can also try cold black tea for it too.

    Hilly glad you're home x

Off to treat myself with a HM chocolate lolly :)
