This is an “over the garden fence” type thread where we chat about everything Old Style and maybe a little bit more. It’s a great, inspiring and motivating thread we start each day to discuss what Old Style things we’re going to do today or what we’ve achieved already. Everyone’s welcome, please do come in, put your feet up (although check the fence hasn’t just been painted first!) and join us for an Old Style natter. The more the merrier!
As this is the Old Style Board, it would be appreciated if posts could include some Old Style content. Please be aware that many people may have small screens, or slow internet connections, so please don’t post large pictures, or clip art – links are preferred. When you make a post, if you feel like giving it a title, that will help others that don’t have the time to read everything skim through the thread quickly but if not it's not a problem. Please do not start a new daily thread before you go to bed at night because this often leaves things confusing with two daily threads live at the same time. The idea is that a member would start each new daily thread after they get up in the morning.
Some people who chat here like to try to answer everyone. Don’t feel you have to though, a general “hi everyone, hope everyone’s well” is fine.

Good morning everyone
Another hot and sticky night and already the makings of a glorious sunny today. Am off for a long 4 day weekend after today so am already making a list of jobs to do, along with a nice cheap day out somewhere.
Moorhen - that is terrible news, I hope your DD can provide support for her friend.
Hilstep - hope you are feeling lots better, please take it easy.
Molly and LW - I hope this heat isn't getting to you too much
Hester - where are you? I hope you haven't hestered yourself away to nothing in this heat!
Salmon and stir fry for dinner, tune and bean salad for DH's lunch and ham and cream cheese for mine. Need to have a week of being really good to boost weight loss.
Well wishes to all sick people and pets and hugs for those who need them or just want them. Keep well and safe and have a super dayLBM 10/1/12 ~ DFW Start 6/2/12: £82,344 ~ Now Zero:staradmin:starmod::staradmin Debt free 17th April 2015 :staradmin:starmod::staradmin

Good Morning x
There was a thread last night re Hester but it has gone this morning.
She is fine - i see her on FB - with the busyness of the end of term. She has a new blog which she says she will link to.
Hugs for a good day xxI must not fear. Fear is the mind-killer.
Fear is the little-death that brings total obliteration.
I will face my fear. I will permit it to pass over and through me. When it has gone past I will turn the inner eye to see its path.
When the fear has gone there will be nothing. Only I will remain.0 -
Morning everyone :j
It's shaping up to be another beautiful day here. DD12 is off to Dartmoor this morning with her school to go hiking. It's been an effort to persuade her that a handbag and dolly shoes are not the correct attire! She's just come downstairs in skimpy shorts and a sleeveless top so I am going to make sure she is slathered in sun cream.
DD10 has been off school for the past couple of days with a sickness bug and I think I have caught it. I haven't been sick yet but just feel unwellOh well, as soon as the kids are packed off to school I will be retreating to bed.
I hope everyone has a great day and hugs for all who would like one.
cheers m'dears x0 -

Morning everyone
Hugs to all those that are feeling sad/poorly x
Brilliant sunshine and already very warm here. Washing in the machine, will put on line later. Plants watered. The tomatoes are now turning red, and the green beans are coming along nicely - think they are all going to be ready when we're on hols though!
DH and DS1 up and off to work stupid early.
Dinner last night was HM cheese and potato pie (menfolk were very unsure about it - until they tasted it and decided it was ok! - men!) I served it with LO cold pork, baked beans, and fried eggs - but a mixture but clean plates all round. Not sure about dinner for tonight maybe bacon, broccolli and cheese pasta - but do have some bits in the fridge to use up so may do something to incorporate those instead.
Work was quite busy again yesterday - busier than we expected so have no idea what today will bring.
Have just checked last nights lottery ticket think I may have a small win - will get it checked on my way into work this morning.
Have a good day - remember the suncream if you're out in the sun!
Keep safe and well x

Morning all:j:j
Warm and sunny here this morning.
Today is the twins sports day, My wife can not go as shes at work. So I'm taking my mother with me to watch them. We don't have to be there until 1:15pm. Right at the hottest part of the day. So that will be fun.
Dinner last night was Rice and Bog.
Tonight dinner will be Sausage and chips with beans .
I need to do some tidying in the living room again today.
I could also do with getting In the garden and doing some weeding and grass cutting, But I will not have time for that today,
I hope everyone's well.
Enjoy:j:j:jYou can have everything you wont in lfe, If you only help enough other people to get what they wont.:j0 -
Morning all,
Another hot one here, had a terrible night it was just too hot and the neighbours decided to BBQ something at 10 last night  the whole house was full of the smell.
Off to work today, dd has the day off so she will do a few jobs for me, dinner tonight will be some kind of pasta dish DD's turn to cook.
Little dog seems to have a gunky eye, so am bathing it with salt water which seems to help, want to avoid the vets if possible they have had about £1000 out of us recently and we are struggling a bit.
Yesterday I got 6 eggs from the chickens I am looking after, a tupperware full of strawberrys and raspberrys and one of gooseberrys :T I made a gooseberry and rhubarb crumble, was very nice.
OK have good days all xx0 -
Looks like another scorcher today, washing is on the line and I have just put another load in.
We are off to Bletchley this morning, I need some bits in Ikea and B&M. I will be glad when we get our own B&M here but that will not be until October.
I have already showered. but I already feel hot and sticky again.
Ruby sorry to hear that little dog has a poorly eye bathing in a saline solution is best, but I would take her to the vet if it hasn't cleared up in a couple of days.
We have had strawberries coming out of our ears this year and the goosegog is new but I have a few berries, the loganberry has lots of fruit on and I have a whole 5 blackcurrants from my little poundland bush :rotfl::rotfl:
Right onwards and upwards

Morning :hello:
We went to a small arboretum in the Forest of Dean yesterday, no exotic animals on this trip though, just some birds and a squirrel
I can't take a deep breath, my sinuses are blocked and I have watery eyes. I think it's hayfever, I don't get it usually (had it one year, then nothing since) but the pollen count was high yesterday and all those trees..... I've taken an allergy tablet and will investigate further
The rolls are defrosting, I'll make a packed lunch in a mo. We've been taking flasks of water and ice out with us and just buying one cuppa in a cafe. Mr tru wants to go to Minehead today, but I don't think I'll cope with another day in the sun. Could do with a day off from mr tru actually :rotfl:Bulletproof0 -
Good Morning all another gorgeous day again.I'm off to Lakeside today with DD, I want to have a shufti at tables for my sitting room I know the sort I want, a drop leaf one that holds four small chairs inside.I have seen some in Ikea so will have a look again and see what DD thinks .I don't want a big table anymore. I have such a small sitting room I need every inch of space, but a drop leaf one would suit very nicely as I have an alcove that I can pop it into.
No news yet of the royal baby, I bet the happy couple can't wait. The T.V will be flooded no doubt with a lot of hoo ha about it.It will be interesting to see what they call him/her.Good luck to the pair of them.I was thinking last night as I struggled to get off to sleep I'm glad I'm not full-term in this weather ,although I don't doubt that she will have air-con to keep cool.
Right, time for some breakfast I think I think I'll have some bran flakes with chopped banana on top to give me energy for traipsing round Lakeside
Cheers every one, have a good day
