I got a call from the DWP, she asked me to confirm my name, address and national insurance number and I said no, she was really put out, but you have to understand, I said, I have no idea who you are, you're just a voice on my phone asking for my information. Had to call them back.
Absolutely! I used to get my bank doing this and ended up with a standard spiel like "No. You called me, you can prove you are XXX Bank first. No, I will not call you back - I have no reason to speak to you. Is there a problem with my account? Then either tell me why you are calling me or write me a letter."
I need to think of something new here...

TPS is good for UK companies but remember that if you have had any previous relationship with a company you may have ( inadvertently) given them permission for future contact. If companies are contacting you after you have told them to remove your details then complain.

It seems that nowadays whether you phone them or they phone you, you need to confirm details

    :(

Last week I was plagued every evening around 9pm with 'International Number Unavailable' calls (approx 3 per night)
    I never answered them.
On Sunday night I decided to answer the third time as by this time I was tamping.
I pressed answer button but left phone on side. I could hear a voice saying 'she's still not in.' & then they hung up.

:eek: It was my Father  Calling from his holiday abroad :o:o:o

because ranting to others is good for the blood pressure - proven fact that the process of letting off steam being to someone in person or taking out on the keyboard is good. Not to mention finding others that feel the same way

If you don't answer the call in the first place then there is nothing to rant about - this is all that is needed to keep my blood pressure down .................:)
