you dont have to go in there explaining things unless they start asking questions. just ask for a going away form. you could ask for it when you sign on if you prefer.feyisondee wrote: »Hi thanks guys and girls. How much notice should i give the JSA. Also i'm not lieing to them dookar..already told them it's a holiday because I was honest, maybe this is why they are saying i'm not allowed it..but I did say to them am going to spend 2 hours of the day at least searching for a job and continuing my job search.
I went into JSA office today, they said you can only get an es674 if you have a valid reason for absence from home..and holiday is not eligible
I haven't suggested you lie.
There's no 'valid reason', you just have to be available0 -
Thanks guys and girls...I understand dooka now, i misread your post in terms of context. i understand so sorry to say that....i see what your saying now and thats a very good point..
@Donna...my jobcentres in a smalltown so the staff r pretty noisy..if they ask me then tomorrow why i want a going away form whats best to say?..0 -

You can be excused from looking for work for a maximum 2 weeks in a rolling twelve month period but you still have to be available. So you can go away and not be looking for work but you will not recieve benefit if you are unavailable.
Would you be willing to retun home if offered an interview or a job to start?0 -
what about 'visiting family?'feyisondee wrote: »Thanks guys and girls...I understand dooka now, i misread your post in terms of context. i understand so sorry to say that....i see what your saying now and thats a very good point..

It's completely ludicrous that people have to go through this chirade and cannot go on holiday for 1-2 weeks in a straightforward manner.0

The DSS have introduced new measures to make life so miserable, then they are forced to work, including logging into their email accounts, making sure they access the Gateway system, checking them, and have an active programme of 'sanctioning' people, because they have a new Government based 'training' program to send people to, when they have been sanctioned. Effectively making money for the Government, but a waste of time, as they teach you how to paper towers and lego, and drawing pictures and posters, before they reinstate your benefits.
But it isn't their benefits that get stopped, if you have a partner, BOTH get stopped, including council tax, rent/mortgage payments etc immediately. Now I filled all the forms in, but the bank has arrears, so it looks like I'm going to lose my house due to this 'sanction', and the reason she got it? Not filling in the diary, because she didn't have one to fill in. One week sanction, because they didn't provide a form, and I, no fault of mine, lose my home. Well done Coronel Cameron!0
