There's a great story about a guy who took his at the wrong time (misread his appointment) so had to take an extra 2 sachets.0 -
The first time i took it i decided to cut the grass at the bottom of our 2 acre paddock! i assumed (wrongly) there would be a little warning! so my first encounter with agent picolax was a somewhat fraught experiance. typical isnt you lerk here waiting for the day you can post your hard one knowledge and bloody turns you miss reads'ok i pretty much put up a similar post as i read it wrong too.

If it's any consolation you made me feel better because it made me giggle?

Well, I am back from hospital.
Not trying to sound like a drama queen, but I have been called unluckiest person medically in a past - chronic back problems, bad ticker, painkiller caused teeth problems and if there is smallest chance that things will go bad, it usually goes bad - picking up infections, falling into wrong side of 96% success rate operations more than once. So this morning I woke up with urinary infection, then on the way out(literally) my back gave in. GP prescribed some antibiotics for infection, said back problems are related to stress(no kidding - with amount of stuff going on in my life I am surprised I have not been locked up yet) and said :"What does not kill us, makes us stronger". On that assumption I must be beyond Superwoman by now...
Anyway, sorry to digress. To put it truthfully - procedure itself was least stressful part of my day and that must tell you a lot
.
Doctor was very nice, leading nurse was beyond nice, took much longer that expected due to unusually shaped cervix (thanks to difficult birth 25 years ago and excessive scarring from that). Got given different local anaesthetic due to heart condition - worked fine, heart rate did not go into dangerous levels. Nurses kept asking if I was OK as I was/looked too calm and relaxed. And instead of simple biopsy I had LLETZ. Do not want to draw any conclusions, just hope that it will be the end of it. Shame it might take up to 4 weeks to get results - not to good to hear when you are already beyond stressed with life.
Now will try to forget and ignore this until I have results - have too many other demons to fight now , so this one will have to wait its turn...0 -
BYR - sorry to hear you had such a bad day!
Glad to hear the procedure went smoothly though despite some difficulties. I hope that is the end of it. *hugs*

I had one of these a couple of years ago (after pretty much every other kind of "oscopy"). Spent weeks beforehand worrying about it and got some valium to get me through the procedure.
Needn't have worried about it... it was over really quickly, less painful than the colonoscopy and the bladder one, and made me wish I'd kept the valium for fun. (I know, naughty Caitlin).
They did tell me afterwards that they were able to check for what they were looking for in about five minutes, I was expecting it to take longer.
You'll be fine Hbs.. the run-up's usually worse than the actual procedure...but valium will definitely help if you're stressing about it. Best of luck, petal.

I know the feeling! I have to resist the urge to drop my pants everytime I go into any doctors office these days.
Heh, been there. It's standard practise for me to whip em off as soon as I get in the consultant's room.
One time a really awkward looking student tried her best to pack up her books and leave without being noticed after I'd de-pantsed on entering...she said nothing, just put her head down and left.
Also, as someone (can't see who as am on a kindle) said, "worry if you need to".
I didn't mean to be dismissive and I hate it when doctors do that or tell you something is painless, as it's rare that they've ever experienced it.

glad it went ok, technically yes it will probably take 4 weeks to get results. but thats good news
if its something to get worried about you will hear much much quicker than 4 weeks
, in my case i had just had the test and they didnt bother waiting for biopsy they rushed me straight in and i had biopsy back in 24 hrs. in most cases they will have a pretty good idea how bad things are just by looking, so as you are home i would take it as a good sign.
best of luck and let us know how you go

HBS - do you have an appointment yet?
Blueyellowred - any news from yours?
I'm waiting for results from my MRI last week as my first post cancer follow up. I am assuming silence means it is all clear. My doctor tends to call quickly if there is negative news.0 -
Good luck time2deal - I am sure they'd have told you by now if there were problems.
My appointment is the 8th of August, but I'm calling every so often to check for cancellations.
