Well I just called Wonga, and they confirmed that a payment plan IS in place. The lady was lovely and very helpful actually and she said that they won't try and take any money on Friday, and that the only money they will try to take, is the amounts stated on the payment plan on the dates stated on the payment plan. She went on to say that they would only try and take the full amount if I defaulted on the payment plan - which I wont as they are small payments that I can afford.

I was sneaky and recorded the conversation incase I need it for anything in future.

Do you think I should still change my bank account :/

If you've recorded the conversation you should be able to get a refund should they decide to clear you out.
    What will your verse be?

You can't use a recording against them unless you told them you were recording the conversation right at the start.

Maybe not in court - but might scare them into refunding.

    Hello YP,

I think I know you from elsewhere (PF?). I just wanted to say good luck & well done for being proactive in sorting everything out.

A conversation can be recorded by an individual if at least one party is aware of the recording. For example you could not legally record a conversation between your mother and your father without their consent, however you could record a conversation between your mother and father if your mother knew.

You can legally record a conversation between yourself and a business without needing to inform the business as you are consenting to the recording. For a business the rules are different, a business must inform the other party that the call is being recorded.

You can record Wonga without telling them. Wonga cannot record you without telling you.

Given that you are paying £15/month??? on a NatWest Adv Gold account, could you have claimed under the extended warranty 'account benefit' on the fridge/freezer?
