Myself and my family were due to travel back from Miami on 1 August 2011 with BA to London Heathrow. After 5 hours on the plane we were taken off and transferred to a hotel for the night. We returned to the airport the following evening and after another 5 hours ended up back at the hotel for another night. We finally departed on Wednesday 3 August. (This is an extremely edited version of events)!!
I wrote to BA on my return and was told that we were not entitled to any compensation as our flight was delayed and not cancelled And was due to technical reasons. We were offered a £50 travel voucher as a gesture of goodwill which we unwillingly accepted.
With the change in law can you tell me do I have a case for compensation or are they correct and will the fact that we accepted these vouchers affect us?

Post on BA thread - yes you are entitled to compensation so commence your claim against the airline after reading FAQ's on page one of thread.0 -
Never been on a forum before and realise now I have probably posted on wrong thread. How do I put this on BA thread?0

Cut n' paste and put on this thread - (I have copied page one for you) however you may not need to post again as all your answers are there in order for you to submit your claim to BA.
