Yes, spec wise. But a better brand? And Brand New?

Are you asking?? Better brand? What does that actually mean? Lenovo make cheap plasticky stuff too.

Are you suggesting that the Lenovo is made to a higher standard than the others? If not, why are you speculating and causing more confusion?

As for brand new...the processor is coming up for two years old.

Old stuff packaged with a new OS. Doesn't even have USB 3.0.

It's the worst of the bunch. What are you thinking? :)

I'm thinking that of those listed, it was not the most expensive, not the cheapest and it was new rather than reconditioned.

The fact I'm on here asking for recommendadtions must surely suggest that I wouldn't actually KNOW what the worst of the bunch is?! :) I'm simply nteying to get some advice/suggestions..

What is her current laptop? May just need a clean up and perhaps more RAM.

Her laptop is a very old Toshiba Satellite pro L10, which I then replaced with my old L300, which wasn't much better for playing her games on and she also dropped it last week!

i don't think the L10 has any capacity for extra memory and as both are rather old, I figured it time for a new one for her instead..

Don't worry about the condition, as all of the recommendations will be 'as new' with a full warranty.

I'm actually using an L300. The Lenovo is not much of an upgrade from that. I think that you can refurb the L300 to do what she wants, if it isn't broken.
If not, what is the full model number of the Toshiba. It's written on the bottom, beginning with PS***-*******.

If the L300 is functional, we'll clean it up and update it and have it running better than when new.

It will run those games comfortably unless it's the lowest of the low spec.

    Once done, look here

Even the £200 Toshiba C850/C855 on Argos Outlet would do the job.

I do believe Levono generally better than Acer.
If you have had google reliability laptop brand, Levono are average.

I'll retrieve the laptop from her and get back to you with the info you need. Hopefully I can get it sorted so she can use it!

    Many thanks!

I'm sure the IBM derivatives keep the score up.

Ok mum is on about a webcam which the L300 doesn't have, I think she just wants a new one. So, of those listed above, which is the best?

Alternatively, is the chrome book okay? Or is that not capable of being used for Skype?

Clip on webcam a tenner or less.

A lot cheaper just to upgrade current laptop.

Toshiba Satellite C850-1KN has much same spec(and a bit more) as the Lenovo, but for £233.94
