Hi there,
Please could I have some recommendations for a laptop for my Mum. She plays Facebook games like Farmville all the time and needs a laptop capable of this. He current model is taking an age to load up the games then crashes all the time.
The only other thing it will be used for is basic surfing.
Her budget isn't massive so basically the best budget laptop for this purpose?
thanks in advance!:)

Some people will shoot me down in flames but for what your mum is using it for a Chromebook could be a good option.
Boots up in about 8-9 seconds, is a pure web operating system and will do the things she needs easily.
You can buy one from about £179-189 I believe (google 'Chromebook'), it updates itself often, doesn't require antivirus as it has it built in, syncs all of your 'google' stuff in one place (ie: youtube, googlemail etc). You can still do offline stuff like watch movies, play games, type up documents/excel sheets, look at your emails etc.
May be worth a look at.0 -

Many thanks - funnily enough my OH has also suggested this. why might you get shot down in flames? What are the disadvantages to this type of machine?0 -
I suggest go for £200 - 300 budget laptop. Refurb laptop for argos ebay/ dell outlet usually provide good value, if you know which to choose.0

Mum would also be doing some internet banking and would like to skype - are these things possible with a Chromebook?0

This one is good value. But just feel cheap.
