    Morning all,

Moorhen awful news. Death is hard enough for an adult to understand but a child... well they don't stand a chance do they? I remember my first experience of death it was when my Grandad died. I was only about 7 or 8 and when I was told he had died I thought he'd just gone into another room.

Hilstep. Glad to have you back with us. Weve only got Hester to worry about now.:(

Last night was one of those nights where nothing was planned and I went with the flow. Hubby wanted his hair cut. Nothing fancy just the usual 'tennis ball/action man' haircut. 'Youngest' needs his hair cut too and the even the cruel taunts of people calling 'Beiber' when he walks in a room wasn't enough to tempt him into a hair cut with the clippers. 'I'd rather pay and have it done properly' he answered when his Dad offered my services. I must admit I was pleased when he refused as I prefer a proper haircut. Then middle son came. I'd woke up worrying about him that morning so he was a sight for sore eyes when he turned up. Everything and everything had been showered and skinned off that evening (except 'Beiber' who had disappeared into his room). The dogs had had a trim too. 'Fancy a haircut son?' I offered. So he dived in the shower whilst I chucked a 9" pizza in the oven and fed his dog.

It took me ages to get the dog/human hairs up then there was the packed lunches for today. Those I did whilst hubby watched all last weeks episodes of Emmerdale that i'd taped for him as hasn't been getting back from work till late and he does like his Soaps.:D

Finally, when all the jobs were done and I could finally sit down. I was wound up like a spring and whilst the men had an early night. I was still awake at 1am.

I didn't hear the men go to work this morning. The dogs woke me up shuffling about and I lay in bed for ages just thinking.

Not much in the way of jobs for me to do today, just mountains of washing.

Tea tonight will be roast chicken and stuffing. Not sure whether to serve it hot or cold yet. I'll decide later.

No signs of my Grandbaby being born but Ive not got long to wait.:T

Washer has finished.... got to fly!

    Have a good day all,

Moorhen - sad news, hugs for your DD, her friend and all the families affected
Julie67 - good luck wishes for your DS
JackieO - hope the scan goes well
Hester - hope you are OK
Judi - wishing you were my neighbour, I'm taking DS to get his hair cut tonight - he wants a "style" but unfortunately he has thick wavy hair so its a short back and sides with enough on top to gel it, its all he can have, poor lad lol, his hair at the moment is thick, wavy and long - he's sweltering

DH has had a date for his deep CT Scan - 28th July - he'll be there at least a couple of hours but hopefully he'll have some results soon. He managed to go and stay at work yesterday and I've not heard from him yet today so hoping he's ok

I've been attacking the housework upstairs so far this morning, just need to hoover up there and then its downstairs for more housework and lots of washing to be done

Hope you all have a good day

Hugs, sticks, spoons and ice lollies in a pile - help yourselves :]

Best laid plans and all that my friend just phoned and said how about a coffee so I'm now going to have to get dressed a bit smarter and meet up with her .She likes the posh coffee shops and as she said she would fork out it would be rude not to :):) I did offer my coffee perc. and some HM biscuits but she is such a label lady :):) I don't mind I suppose, but my quiet morning has now vanished I will listen to her woes and 'there, there' her She has more money than sense at times and has very little to complain about 'rich husband,three-doing-well -children, and a large detached house and plenty of money' yet she's still not a happy lady I think I am the one person who actually listens to her, as her family seem to just pat her reasuringly on the head and ignore her.Maybe its because I am not impressed with money and a bit more firmly rooted to the ground. We have been friends for over 40 years bless her and she has complained for most of it .Silly things that aren't important seem to annoy her, the cleaner haviing a holiday is her big gripe at the moment ."What can I do" she asked on the phone ,to which I replied 'Do it your self perhaps ?' .long silence then 'but I'll ruin my nails '.:):) still a posh coffee and a scrummy cake is worth the effort I suppose :):)
There's always another day for a read I guess I'm off to get spruced up
    Cheers

    Hi Guys,
I have been in hospital for a week, but am back home now. I ended up back in A & E again after not being able to breath again. It got to me, and I ended up sobbing to the consultant, who agreed to take me in and "Get it sorted". Well they have. I spent the week in a fantastic room, with an en-suite shower. The food was good too.:T The staff, as always were fantastic, our hospital is amazing.
All the tests have been now done, and I will be going back next week to see the consultant. After that I have to have an op at King's College in Dulwich where there is a specialist in "Cushing Syndrome". So I am feeling better about that.:T
I am a bit fragile at the moment, so won't stay long, but hope everyone else is okay.

    Morning All,

Hilstep - glad to hear you were properly attended to and are getting the required treatment.

Last night my OH and DD went off to bingo and I minded DGS. We had a ball. We have quite a long hallway and we played football, had a "picnic", read stories and played on the iPad. He is only 3, but has a fantastic imagination. I was exhausted by the end of it all and ready for bed, never mind him! :D

Overcast and warm here at the moment, with sun due this afternoon.

Have a good day everyone.

Moorhen - such sad new :(

Hilstep - glad to hear you have received decent treatment!

Well, at work today as usual - left bf in bed. We ended up getting a KFC last night as his brother turned up and bf, brother and dad spent ages hacking away at his sports chair then the rest ate pizza and bf couldn't face the carbs! Then he realised how late he had left it and got the take out rather than wait for food *rolls eyes*
he is off to do some personal training today at the track.

I have been on the phone to the local press today - honestly I'm sure I'd make a wonderful sports manager. When I'm older I think I will go in to that line of work ;)

Work is quiet and my line manager and I are off to plan some new developments in the sun for a few hours so we don't get disturbed! She is fasting today (5:2 diet) and I didn't get chance to grab any lunch so I think I will grab something in town whilst I pick up bananas and strawberries at bfs request!

Getting my hair done tonight by bf's mum - definitely need my highlights touching up even though my roots are barely visible (I have natural highlights she just added a few to lighten the rest and I love it now - never thought I would!) and I need a good inch off the ends! Plus I look like a shaggy pup so need my fringe cutting in! I am paying her £20 plus wine so much cheaper than I would ever pay at a salon - even Supercuts quoted me £60 for the same stuff :O

well I had best be off. Make sure you're all drinking plenty of fluids and staying sun and heat safe everyone.

Hugs to those who need them :)

Getting yourself better is a job in itself so don't be tempted to
" just do this" and then find yourself getting exhausted and poorly. I would send a dodgy hug but that could be painful;)
Lovely to see you back on here.

    Moorhen

What awful news and it does put things into perspective . I mentioned it to DH saying how sad it was and how precious every day should be - his reply "What, she died of the heat?" Sometimes I think men really are from Mars .

Hope Hester is all right and the numpties she has to deal with are not being true to previous form.

Youngest dd is in the garden with a friend, a portable barbecue, salad etc and planning to fend for herself. Oldest is in kitchen trying a recipe for veggie chilli and DH is about to go back to the garden.

Dishes are in dishwasher and having a cold drink and a browse on here . Planning home made sweet potato and red pepper burgers for tonight with salad and maybe some rolls. Had planned to take a load of books back to library but think it is too hot to consider today so could possibly renew online.

    Hugs to all

    Afternoon all

Hilstep-glad you are getting the treatment you need.

    Jackie O enjoy your coffee.

Quiet here as OH is enjoying a siesta after getting up early to go for his 6 monthly Glaucoma check at the Eye Hospital. All OK there so check up in another 6 months.

I had a coffee with a friend this morning-first since our husbands retired/got made redundant. Hers was pottering with the decking at the top of the garden. I think we are all still adjusting but they have had amazing weather so far.

DD flies in Friday week. The spare room is finished. We had the new carpet laid yesterday. I just need to find a little pine chest of drawers and a mirror now. DD wants a side trip to Cornwall while she is here so trying to decide whether to try and book up a few days now or wait and see what the weather is going to do.

Well time for a cuppa I think. Have a good afternoon all.
