Vendor / Estate agent didn't mention wind farm!

Another person who loves windfarms and would have no problem living near one. In fact I'd probably prefer to live near one than not. I have one a lot less than a Km away and watch it as I walk by every morning to see how much wind there is up there without a concern.
Whether you should have been informed or not - if it doesn't bother you too much (like a nuclear power station would, and rightfully so).., why make an issue out of it. As has been said, a few questions on 'what developments are going on here' to any two people in the area would probably have caused mention of the wind farm. Its too late now so I'd just put it out of your mind.0 -

It's very likely that both the vendor and the selling agent knew of the plan and had an obligation to disclose. The problem is proving it.The real madness is our dependance on gas from Russia (!!!) ... Every tiny KW we generate at home is a KW less we need to rely on from Russia.0

difficult one this, we have solar farms near us they are massive and wind turbines. Personally i think they are a blot and ruin the country side. BUT there is no easy answer, we need the power, majority of people wont put large sums of money into saving energy and wont cut back to any relay degree on what they use, most houses have a minimum of two tv's and a whole plethora of gadgets that guzzle juice. and lets face it wind and solar is the softer option, no one wants a coal or worse still nuclear power station any where near them so on balance i will grumble about the wind turbines but remind myself to be grateful that i dont have a nuclear power station anywhere near me0

I used to do the Planning part of the search for our Local Authority. Unless the client specifically requested (and paid for) a search of a wider area, the search was done solely on the boundary indicated on the plan provided, which usually was merely the boundary of the property. Not even next door. Certainly not a kilometre away! Other parts of the search (mining, environmental, drainage etc) may have had a larger boundary, but that was what we worked on.(AKA HRH_MUngo)

Imagine someone holding forth on biology whose only knowledge of the subject is the Book of British Birds, and you have a rough idea of what it feels like to read Richard Dawkins on theology: Terry Eagleton0 -

.
You are wrong.
Caveat emptor.
There is no requirement for the vendor to disclose anything.
It's up to the buyer to make enquiries.Eat vegetables and fear no creditors, rather than eat duck and hide.0 -
