I really meant that vuvuzela gave a very caring reply, just wish more people on here helped in such a nice way.

In my experience, the majority of answers given on MSE are "nice/caring".

There is a small minority who seem to always find a way to be rude. However theres also a small minority who think the customer is always right and who think you're being rude if you tell a poster the retailer is acting within the law.

There's also a small majority who follow the letter of the law to the extreme.

Really? Would you care to give an example? :)

Far too many and too little time. Just because a company is operating within the law doesn't mean we shouldn't complain.

:rotfl: At first you say its a minority, now you're saying far too many for you to quote? I'm only asking you to quote 1 or 2.

Nor do I think I have ever heard someone say they have no right to complain when receiving bad customer service - in fact I know i've said the opposite personally more than once.

You get what you pay for IMO and you cant expect to receive 5 star service when using a 2 star company. Perhaps a rating section on MSE of retailers along those lines (both on a legal and customer service level) would be useful? So on top of giving the legal position, we can also vote on what star rating of customer service we think they are providing?

Well, I rang homebase again today and they said that as it is a large amount of money they have to do "a full investigation" with the courier. They need to speak to the driver and look at the camera recording from his van. At least I know that it definitely won't show it being delivered to me as I am not lying which is how homebase are making me feel. Hopefully, it will show where he did deliver them. They also asked me if I knew who the person who signed for it was...they have a name and I haven't a clue who it is. At least this person didn't forge my name/signature. I am so fed up though but I should have more info tomorrow.
