Returning a new item bought instore

I was sold an accessory with my phone that the shop kept bothering me till I bought, I took it in the end knowing I can return it as per their policy but when I went to go in the next day the store was closed for over a week due to redecorating and when I went back in I was told it was too late to return it.
Since they were closed I was unable to return it, so what can I do?!

So you bought something with the intention of taking it back for a refund... is that right?
Is the thing faulty?
If not, sell it on ebay.0 -
I bought something I did not want or could afford to get the people stop pestering me to buy it planning to return it the next day.
I could sell it on Ebay but means I will lose out a lot of money0 -
I usually get the same in a certain chain of phone shops, usually they push for insurance or a case, I just say I'll leave the contract and go elsewhere and start to walk out of the shop, They soon drop their sales for extras to get me to take the phone. Just say no and if that doesnt work go elsewhere, Theres usually a long line of phone shops on most high streets.0

If their own returns policy says you can return it, then insist on it being returned! Put it in writing that you returned it the day after purchase, and they were closed, so you returned it the first day the show was open and therefore want a refund.
If they say no, send them a letter before action!
What were you sucked into buying??Should've = Should HAVE (not 'of')
Would've = Would HAVE (not 'of')
No, I am not perfect, but yes I do judge people on their use of basic English language. If you didn't know the above, then learn it! (If English is your second language, then you are forgiven!)0 -
Please remember that in many places 'changing your mind' is not considered a legitimate reason for a full refund, and you may only receive store credit, which wouldn't be much use to you.
Politely refuse, then just refuse, then impolitely refuse if needs be. You need to have a bit of backbone here (sorry). Some days, it's just not worth chewing through the leather straps....

Why on earth would you allow someone to pester you in buying a phone accessory? Are you not familiar with the words No Thanks? Or just walk out of the shop!!
If you are that easily persuaded to buy against your wishes I would stay well away from time-share salesmen! :rotfl:0 -

This is just as helpful......
Next time this happens. You simply say NO.
What would you have done if they went bust, or you lost/damage it......
I can't believe that someone can post a quote like the above.....Never ASSUME anything its makes a>>> A55 of U & ME <<<0 -
OP, if I was you I'd take it back again and explain that the shop was closed and you were unable to return.
If the assistant is not helpful ask to speak to the manager, if he doesn't help just stand your ground and let other customers know how bad you have been treated.
Always best to start has polite as possible.0 -
