Hi,
I am looking for a new PC. My budget is around £500.
I have seen 2 websites:-
https://www.cube247.co.uk/?syscat=12
and
http://www.cyberpowersystem.co.uk/r02/ri02.asp
What are your review on the above 2 companies?
Thanks
SM

If you want a cheap PC that does the job, as opposed to a monstrosity that glows in the dark .. https://www.dmxdimension.comEver get the feeling you are wasting your time? :rolleyes:0 -
I would be using the PC for:-
1. Video Editing, Back up DVDs
2. Music
3. Internet
4. Generaluse of office application
Thanks

Im also on the lookout for a new PC, budget not so high as yours. One thing I do is make sure the returns policy is good. And so I pick eBuyer as there returns policy is pretty good.
The one that is taking my fancy at the moment is http://www.ebuyer.com/UK/product/125244
I have a spare 256 PCI Express card and 600w PSU so should fit nicely into this

Shopping Tips
Don't spend five pounds to dry clean a shirt. Donate it to the charity shop instead. They'll clean it and put it on a hanger. Next morning buy it back for two pounds.0 -
This looks like a good deal, too: http://www.arbico.co.uk/Arbico-CD6320XL-custom-built-computer-p-17420.html0

pks00, if you know how to fit a video card and PSU, me thinks you should be having a go at building your own PC! You'd get exactly the setup that you want and you'd save some money. You can get no better than your own build :cool:The true cost of something is what you give up to get it.0 -

Maybe no better quality (if you know what you're doing) but pricewise some of the dell offers you'd be v hard pushed to spec up a computer for that sort of money.0 -

That's a point I've seen albertross make before but, in my experience, the self build always works out cheaper. I can see why some people don't want to self build since you can get Dells so cheaply these days but component prices have also come down a lot, which is something maybe not everyone is aware of.
I built a budget Core 2 Duo system just last week for a friend for £199. A Dell pc from dmxdimension with the same specs as the one I built was £259.

I've seen Dell PC's with a core II duo cpu, 2gb ram and 19" monitor for £329 - at that sort of price you're hard pushed to beat it - especially when you add on the cost of a legitimate copy of an OS
