Ive had no contact for days after asking them to cancel it themselves as I don't know how, I have woken to 4 essay emails today filled with info copied and pasted from ebay and a link for me to cancel the bid lol persistent I will give her that, she has said she will have to fill in a form etc etc and that I should do it, if she knows how to do it then just cancel it instead of wasting time sending 4 emails to me, she has threatened non payment if I don't cancel which TBH im not bothered about, I have no other watchers on the item and im not desperate to sell it, its only a box set dvd. Told her if she has figured out how to cancel which it sounds like she has then just cancel, not paying will lead to a strike on her account. so will see what happens, she has no legitimate reason why she wants to cancel!

Even though this is true I wouldn't have said that to her.

To be fair, she can't cancel her bid, she can only retract it unless it's within the final 12 hours of the auction.

She may now choose to pay for the item, you send it and it either doesn't arrive, arrives damaged or SNAD... Personally I wouldn't want the a*se-ache of a potential negative feedback and trashed stars. I would just cancel the bid now and block her totally.

Yes your right it will only show on their account if they retract.

Just out of curiosity[wearing my tin hat here] and i could be wrong here but from the tone of your posts you seem determined to put some sort of mark on the buyers account be it their retraction or an npb?

Ultimately you shouldn't HAVE to cancel it, but when you are risking low DSRs and poor feedback in an attempt to prove some kind of point, you have to wonder if it's worthwhile.

I wouldn't say determined I just think they have given no reason why they want to cancel and as they have entered a contract by bidding if they want to pull out then they should therefore retract there own bid, be it whether or not they get a mark on their account.
Why bid on an item that u don't want, its not a department store that u can buy something from then change your mind when u get home and decide u don't want it.
If she doesn't cancel by tomorrow then I will have to do it, obviously I don't want bad feedback etc

Look i agree its annoying and a huge pita but in the time you`ve taken to write on here and send messages to your buyer you could have cancelled their bid and put them on your bb 20 times over.
Surely you have better things to do with your time than spend all this energy with a pita buyer who quite frankly doesnt merit more than 60 seconds of your time to block and cancel their bid.

I'd cancel the bid- I don't have time to waste time or effort dealing with these time wasters.

Nope. You're the seller, you just cancel it. They will get an email from ebay to advise them of the cancellation but by then you'll have them blocked anyway and they shouldn't be able to contact you again after that.
