I listed some items Saturday and today checked how they was doing, Ive had a message off someone who bid on one of the items saying
'hello
could i please cancel my bid of 3.00 pound on this item
thankyou
x'
No explanation as to why. so damn annoying! so do I cancel or just leave it? surely once u have bid u have entered in to an agreement??

As annoying as it is, you're probably best cancelling it rather than leaving it and then having trouble down the line should they win the item.0

If someone 'bids in error' they can retract a bid.
I would reply, suggesting that they retract the bid themselves.
They'd also go straight on my blocked bidder list, I always block people who retract bids on the basis that they are messing me around.Early retired - 18th December 2014

i agree - it is very annoying. unless the item has less then 24 hours to run i would tell them to cancel the bid themselves and put them on my blocked list.
I'd listed an item the other day with got a bid on in the last couple of hours. followed by a message half hour later telling me her child had got hold of her phone and bid on 10 things could i retract the bid.
short answer - no (as less them 24 hours left), then opened a NPB case against them and got them a strike on their account.
tough - yes, but there are enough screens to click tho to bid on something if you are doing it personally. or if your child actually has done it call it a good lesson in phone/ ebay security and take it out their pocket money!loves how my "I've been censored" signature has been censored. LOL. Happy Christmas. :xmastree:0 -
Thanks, she has 11 feedback, only set up account in march, I seem to be getting a lot of messers or non payers lately, My blocked list is growing rapidly0

Tell them you dont know how, They need to retract their bid themselves.Censorship Reigns Supreme in Troll City...0

How do you block people,I need to know! Didn't know you could lol.0

I have told her yesterday she can retract the bid, her bid is still active today so if she don't cancel I guess I will be opening a NPB if she don't pay either.0

If they don'e retract their bid and it's getting close to the end of the auction (just before 12hrs to go), I would cancel it for them.
Easier than gointh through the NPB hassle, and you're more likely to sell it to someone else sooner.0 -

Ive had no contact for days after asking them to cancel it themselves as I don't know how, I have woken to 4 essay emails today filled with info copied and pasted from ebay and a link for me to cancel the bid lol persistent I will give her that, she has said she will have to fill in a form etc etc and that I should do it, if she knows how to do it then just cancel it instead of wasting time sending 4 emails to me, she has threatened non payment if I don't cancel which TBH im not bothered about, I have no other watchers on the item and im not desperate to sell it, its only a box set dvd. Told her if she has figured out how to cancel which it sounds like she has then just cancel, not paying will lead to a strike on her account. so will see what happens, she has no legitimate reason why she wants to cancel!0
