Hi everyone, hope you are all coping in the heat. Its gone a bit dull here atm.
Been missing in action, getting ready for the family get together yesterday. We decided against a bbq as there were quite a lot coming so did chilli and hot beef for barms in the sc,pasties and peas as the main course, dips ,salad.I made apple pie and a Victoria sponge filled with fresh cream and strawbs, fresh fruit salad, trifle and buns and ice lollies for the kids. The excuse for the 'do' was DS2s birthday and to repay DiL2bs brothers for their hospitality as have been twice to them.Thought there'd be loads of food only prob was DS and his DF had asked extra people i didnt know about,at least 8 adults and 2 children  so it looked like a plague of locusts had been through.Everyone seemed to enjoy it though, thats the main thing.Probably need to go shopping again now though.
DiL2bs baby bump seems to have blossomed in the heat.Julie you were asking about names, she wont let anyone talk about it now as she mentioned at work what they were thinking of and got a load of stick about it :mad:,I would say its one of the older style names for men but we like it so s*d em :rotfl:
Right, better go,going to do a bit of gardening at DS2s house.x:heartsmil 'A woman is like a teabag: You never know her strength until you drop her in hot water'. (Eleanor Roosevelt)0 -

carolbee Kent is such a beautiful county, and there is so much to visit and see.I went to the Manor Country Park just outside West Malling yesterday, and its a real hidden gem of a place shady trees and a lovely lake and river. The lake had some nesting swans with their babies and it was very pretty.Lots of families picnicing under the trees and very peaceful.Lovely cafe as well where we had a very nice cuppa that didn't break the bank.I would definitely go again as there were masses of blackberry s all over the place and in flower so hopefully in August lots to pick
B/B I had an MRI a couple of weeks ago and it was so noisy and rather uncomfortable ,as you say very confined space, and I had a little nurse who was lovely and kept stroking my hand.
Well I set off to go to morrisons at Sittingbourne and gave up as the road was completely blocked with traffic I think there must have been a problem on the A 249 as the police were directing traffic of onto the side roads so no shopping for me today I shall go in the morning after the school run far too hot to struggle through todayI have enough to see me over tonights dinner at least.
My its a scorcher this afternoon I am just off to pick the boys up from school and have got some cold bottles of apple juice to cool them down a bit
Cheers chums JackieO xxx0 -
Butterfly Brain sorry to hear it wasn't such a nice experience.
Well bf has landed (late) and collected all his baggage (after being messed around) and collected the car (in which the parking guys had been playing with the drivers seat position) and then got on the M25 (wrong way due to Sat Nav) before finally heading in the right direction oh and he needs fuel this time around which is an awful pain for him to do solo...and finally not forgetting he is exhausted and hot so as you can imagine he isn't the happiest/most cheerful chappy in the world currentlyHopefully he is somewhat happier when he gets back a couple of hours later than planned
He also needs to go and see his dad first so I might pop round to his parents and meet him there - gives me chance to freshen up a little too!
Been and spent £5.18 on additional salad/lunch supplies for the week as I need to cater for him as well as me all week which has been unusual recently! But we should now have plenty. All breakfasts and lunches are sorted.
Evening meals will be salads with various meats/'toppings' or choices from the following;
*pizza
*spag bol
*cottage pie
*chicken dinner
*chicken supreme and rice
* chicken, rice and veg sauce
*southern fried turkey with chips
*Chicken wrapped in bacon with cheese and chips
I also have a couple of BOGOF vouchers for mains at a local restaurant (one from the paper and one emailed for my birthday). I have a desert voucher for Harvester (again birthday) and I'm sure at least one take away will sneak in so we should have a couple of treat nights too as it is his first full week at home for a while (and his last for a few weeks!)************************************

Me too. Am fed up with this now. There is a reason why I prefer winter, least I can ADD clothing.....when it's this hot it's just plain uncomfortable.I have a gift for enraging people, but if I ever bore you it'll be with a knifeLouise Brooks

Hi all,
Just finished work, thought I wasgoing to melt in the car, but determined not to moan about the weather.
Have spent the day being laughed at by my colleagues as, due to the lovely weather, I have mostly been wearing sunglasses, anyhoo I now look like a panda:mad: and didn,t they let me know it:cool:
Woke up at stupid o,clock but the feline horrors playing tug of war with a slow worm, luckily the poor thing was okay, and was returned to the garden, amonst so e rocks for him to hide in.
Kittens were not happy with me, and flounced off
Cannot be bothered with food, but there,s fish and chips in the freezer for those who want it.
Have a fab evening all xNote to self - STOP SPENDING MONEY !!

Hello all!
It's been dull but still warm here today, and we managed a very brief light shower which cooled me down for a few minutes. Finally bought DS something for his birthday, if he doesn't like it he can change it!
Fajitas for dinner, will get chopping the veg shortly, wen to Mr T's for some chicken and sour cream and treated myself to some Finest flowers as they were half price, so am sitting typing with a lovely scent wafting over me, although just spotted a lily so will need to move the vase as they will be too tempting for the cat!
Had a bad day yesterday, feeling all hard done to, think the emotions will be high this week especially for DS!
Right, better organise some food, hugs to all who want/need one!RIP Iain
