This is an “over the garden fence” type thread where we chat about everything Old Style and maybe a little bit more. It’s a great, inspiring and motivating thread we start each day to discuss what Old Style things we’re going to do today or what we’ve achieved already. Everyone’s welcome, please do come in, put your feet up (although check the fence hasn’t just been painted first!) and join us for an Old Style natter. The more the merrier!
As this is the Old Style Board, it would be appreciated if posts could include some Old Style content. Please be aware that many people may have small screens, or slow internet connections, so please don’t post large pictures, or clip art – links are preferred. When you make a post, if you feel like giving it a title, that will help others that don’t have the time to read everything skim through the thread quickly but if not it's not a problem. Please do not start a new daily thread before you go to bed at night because this often leaves things confusing with two daily threads live at the same time. The idea is that a member would start each new daily thread after they get up in the morning.
Some people who chat here like to try to answer everyone. Don’t feel you have to though, a general “hi everyone, hope everyone’s well” is fine.

Good Morning all, another brilliant sunny day looks on the cards at the moment I only have to hang out my washing shortly ,probably be dry very quickly.
Knitting and nattering club this morning, last one for me before the schools break up.Then I stop going until they are back as I have four boys to take care of for 6 weeks during the holidays.I wouldn't want to inflict my clubs on the boys bless them, but I don't mind as we do have lots of other things to do.I really enjoy the boys break from school as it means we get to go out and about all over the place.lots of picnics and trips to hopefully free places:):)
Right time I got a wriggle on and had a shower and some breakfast
hope you all have a great day and don't get too hot
Cheers chums

P.S also have to do some food shopping at last for this month.I've been shopping from my cupboards and freezer so now I do need some fresh fruit and veg to supplement what I am using0 -
Good morning everyone
A bit overcast this morning but gosh it was another hot night and I did not sleep well. My arm is aching so must have laid in the wrong way and found my foam support on the floor this morning so will probably suffer for that later.
Back in work today and working 3 days with 2 days holiday this week so it will probably fly over.
Frankfurters, home made coleslaw and salad for dinner, cold omelettes for lunches.
One week to DH's pay day and counting! Managed to get car insurance down by £50 so that made me feel a bit better. Just waiting to see how much DH has earned from marking so we can see what we need to add.
Better get a move on so will leave with usual well wishes for all sick people and pets and hugs for those who need or just want them. Keep well and safe and have a super dayLBM 10/1/12 ~ DFW Start 6/2/12: £82,344 ~ Now Zero:staradmin:starmod::staradmin Debt free 17th April 2015 :staradmin:starmod::staradmin

Morning all:j:j
Sunny and warm here again this morning :j:j
Iv heard that the weather will be staying warm for the next two weeks,
Very warm here again yesterday, But I spent most of it in the house. We got the twins bookcase put together. We sorted out the huge number of books that they have. Put them all In the bookcase.
Living room was also sorted out and tided up yesterday. I was about ready to drop last night.
Today's plan is to go to my Mums house and pain some of her fence for her. I shall go this morning before it gets two hot, I will prob only spend about two hours there today. Got some tidying to do in my own Garden this afternoon if its not too hot.
Dinner tonight will be something with the left over roast brisket from yesterday. Will Have to have a think about what to do with it.
Well I hope that you all have a great day,
Enjoy the good weather :j:j:jYou can have everything you wont in lfe, If you only help enough other people to get what they wont.:j0 -
This is unnaturally early for me, as I don't 'do' mornings, but the combination of the hot weather and an achy back has made if difficult to doze any longer. So I've propped myself up in bed with my iPad.
The eBay run has reached epic proportions this morning. I have 19 parcels to go, the majority of them are my friends things that I'm selling for her. I'm going to walk down the post office with the medium sized parcels, then walk round the corner with the things that will go in the post box, then jump in the car with the two larger parcels for Collect Plus.
The reason my back is aching is due to all the bending involved in packing 19 parcels. This eBay lark seems to have got a bit out of hand. But, quite a bit of my friends things are now sold, so I will be scaling things back a bit now. I do enjoy the eBaying, but I think I need a bit of a rest from it.
After all that I'll crack on with the housework, but no in depth cleaning in this weather, just enough to make sure things are clean and tidy. Will also get some washing on the line.
I feel like chicken curry for dinner this evening, so must get the chicken out of the freezer.
Have a good dayEarly retired - 18th December 2014

Good morning all,
Another beautiful day here.
Washing is out on the line. Everywhere is tidy. Had my shower. Leaving for work in a little while. For once i am on the ball this morning.
Hubby has got his days off at the moment so he said he will go over the allotment for a little while.
Chicken salad for tea and then hg strawberries and ice cream. Our strawberries are doing really well this year, very tasty.
I hope everyone has a good day and hugs to those who need them.

Morning everyone
Hugs to all those that are feeling sad/poorly x
Brilliant sunshine and already very warm here. Washing on the line. Plants watered.
DH up and off to work stupid early.
Lunch yesterday was roast pork, roast pots, mash, carrots, cauli/broc cheese, peas, yorkshires and gravy, ice creams for dessert. DH collected mum as she was on her own as dad has been away with my bro for the weekend. She seemed to enjoy her lunch, and cleared her plate. DH and I took her home mid afternoon and then went back to caravan to clean up the last bits - house looks like a bomb site - but its only for a week then we can get it all packed away again.
Dinner tonight is roast chicken pieces, HG new potatoes, veg and gravy - nothing to difficult after being at work all day - we'll be either quiet or a manic Monday - not sure which!
Have a good day - remember the suncream if you're out in the sun!
Keep safe and well x

Good morning all,
Bf is back today so I have only had a little sleep out if excitement. I'm sure I will regret that later at work but will be happy to have him home.
Sunny and warm already today - wish I had more dresses that fit nowadays. Since losing weight nothing really fits and clothes are so expensive. I will be treating myself to a couple of dresses for Belgium but won't wear them until I get there to surprise bf hehe. I could do with a maxi skirt, a second casual skirt and some shorts/ 3/4sI have found patterns for maxi skirts so I'm determined to make a couple.
I found out yesterday I can get a 10% discount at the fabric shop in town so that made me very happy indeed. Really would rather make myself a few keys pieces than buy too much as I am so picky and find it hard to buy clothes I like (another reason to buy these dresses for Belgium without waiting too long!)
Already done all the dishes, dried them and got them away. Prepared a packed lunch as I know I should try to eat in this heat; small ham salad bap, a Little bag of mini gingerbread men and some fresh cherries. I also still have fruit on my desk at work to snack on.
Been using gradual tan moisturiser to get a bit of colour...was assured it wouldn't all wash off in the shower but I'm sure it has :-( I'm far too pale for my own good in summer so really need to find a reliable way to get a little colour (not a deep impressive tan, just a hint of glow!)
Hugs to all who want/need them, well wishes to the poor lies.
Enjoy the fine weather but stay sun safe and remember the sun cream and fluids all day, staying out of the sun/heat where possible especially during peak times :-)************************************

Morning everyone :j
It's been a bit of a shouty morning here as my DD10 has lost her packed lunch bag and water bottle and I only gave them to her last friday! I am hoping that she's left them in school but if she has they've probably 'walked' by now. Even though I label everything she has had loads of school stuff go missing, it's a very frustrating and expensive problem.
Anyway, deep breaths and all that, the rest of the morning hasn't been too bad. Hubby has been packed off to work and DDs 13 and 12 have left for senior school. The evil kittens are fighting over a drinking straw and old fat cat has found a sunny patch so is dozing peacefully.
Tea tonight is going to be garlic and herb chicken thighs with stuffed tomatoes and new potatoes. I hope everyone here will like it. I've managed to lose 5lb in the past two weeks but that's mainly as it's too hot to eat loads. Still, I'm really happy to see the number on the scales go in the right direction for a change lol.:rotfl::rotfl:
I shall be looking after my grandson while eldest DD has a driving lesson so I can see a morning of Peppa Pig and Ben and Holly. He is obsessed with them at the moment, it's so funny as he doesn't speak a lot yet but 'Peppa' is one of his clearest words and he even does the piggy snort, makes me smile every time.:D
Hope everyone manages to enjoy the sunshine wherever you are.
Cheers m'dears x0 -
Morning all,
Did not sleep to well due to the heat, and its scorching all ready here, unfortunatly I am off to my volunteer job, which involves being in a hot kitchen all day teaching people to cook _pale_ its great fun, but I honestly dont know if I can handle the heat, I will have to tell them I need to have a break if it gets too much.
Dinner tonight is pizza salad and coleslaw, i never feel like cooking much after a day cooking, so its nice and easy.
I got another 6 eggs from the chickens I am looking after yesterday :T, I shall go back today and I need to pick some fruit, there are loads of raspberries.
Ok better get on, have good days all xx0 -
Morning all,
Didn't manage to post yesterday as my Internet was down, hope your all ok.
Very warm here as well last night so neither of us feel very rested. Hubby has a full day at work and I have some eBay parcels to post.
I have my sons gf coming this morning, she is currently interviewing for a new job and is through to the third interview for which she has to prepare a video of a steam mop in action! So she is coming to use my floor as its bigger and bringing her friend with his camera and editing stuff, so I'm going to have a film studio in my kitchen:rotfl: hope I get a cleaned floor out of it. I'm sure she will get the job, such a bright personable girl and it will be a real step up for her as head of studio.
I'm also fasting today so will have breakfast just before lunch and then salad for my evening meal. Am really hoping this works.
Ok for for a shower, have a good day. XStarted Self Managed DMP 10th May 2017.
