    Morning everyone :D

Another hot one here. Hmmmm Halight supposed to last two weeks. Which means by start of August it will probably be back to rain in time for our summer holiday :o

Anyway off to mow half dead lawn in a sec before it gets too hot.
DW is On, BM to go on, I've got to vac, dust and also clean the bathroom. Preferably all before lunchtime so I can crash when the heat gets too much.

Tea will be a tuna salad as I am fasting today.

Hugs and spoons all round xx

RR take it easy in the hot kitchen x

Lushlifesaver good news about the 10% off at fabric shop :T

    Morning all,

another hot day ahead of us. Ive started my household chores already but i'm a bit late. If it gets too hot i'll just down tools and do them later.

Well the quick visit to the Outlaws didn't go well. Hubby took me for support and I bribed 'Youngest' for support.:D We needed our towers of strength as neither of them were in the best of moods. Male outlaw (chief whiskey drinker) was out of whiskey and had to break open a bottle of hock but it numbed the pain of listening to the whining from the pair of them. He was sick of the dog (terrier type mutt who barks a lot) and she was whining she was skint. She's the Director of a limited company and business is doing well apparently but she's skint. Oh well, at least I didn't get the same lecture as I usually do about failing my driving test and I didn't have to give her the same answer as I always do 'Well if your brother hadn't have whined about the cost of the lessons I might have continued' (cheek of it, I funded my own driving lessons but he paid for my test).... 'Youngest' got moaned at for having a hole in his ear.....'Well it could be worse, it could be a tattoo' I defended. They both agreed the 10mm hole in his ear was better than a tattoo. Hubby and Sister talked about work/business and stuff and I listened to brother in law going on about his horse (the one he had in the 70s). Oh dear, ive heard it a million times before. Hubby mentioned he'd had his tax rebate come through and sister started spitting feathers. I'd had enough by this point and glared at hubby I wanted to go home. All three of us were wound up like springs by the time we got home..... Still, that's the last visit till Christmas.

Do you remember me telling you about my neighbours son who had found out a couple of days ago he had terminal cancer? Well he was told he'd got weeks instead of months to live... Well he died on Sunday. His Mother in total denial refused to go and see him when the hospital called them so the Father stayed with him to the end. The Mother still hasn't seen his body as she has completely shut down. Her daughter is in Spain and her remaining son is a bit of a rolling stone. They haven't been able to contact him yet. God knows what they must be going through. Theres not really a lot I can do but ive offered my support and help if its needed. I cant do any more than that really.

I woke up this morning worrying about my middle son. My heart was heavy if you know what I mean. He needs so much help to get back on the path but he's got to be willing to change.... Meanwhile whilst I was worrying I spied some hanging gardens on my ceiling.

Anyway, I think i'd better shut up now and give the rest of you a chance so say something.

Tea will be pasta (with or without a smile):(

    Have a great day all.

We decided to do things differently yesterday as it was so hot. I made fresh salmon fillets with lime, chicken for those who don't like fish, with an assortment of stuffed peppers and a side salad. Dessert was raspberries and yoghurt. Everyone wolfed it down and were impressed yet it was much easier than faffing around with a roast, yorkies etc.

Last night was home made pizzas using up odds and ends in the fridge and again was wolfed down happily.

Youngest has just set off with friends for the seaside so me DH and oldest dd are alone in house. Not sure whether to take dd out shopping later for sunglasses (she squints in the sun), earplugs for her laptop so she can sit with family in living room and still listen to laptop without disturbing anyone else and maybe a floor lamp for youngest.

We have some chicken and potatoes that would make DH a lunch if we go out or if we stay in could be turned into a chicken, tomatoey, noodley thingamajig!

I have some sausages from the butcher to use but will either make sausage and onion wellington with puff pastry or skin them and add spices then roll them into koftas so it looks posher and have with potato salad and coleslaw tonight. Youngest has turned up her nose at the mayo in the fridge as it is not a fancy brand so it reminded me to look at AF last night and I got some very fancy H******s mayo with caramelised onion, hint of lemon etc. Also got instant delight desserts, tins of fruit, pasta sauce for pizzas, lemon iced tea and a few bits and bobs all for nearly a third of the price.

Local supermarket had no ice the other day so I froze water in plastic cups and will decant the ice cups later, smash to bits and bag up in the freezer.

    Julie

Will you be shown ooing and aahing over the delights of steam in the film? Pointing and cooing like one of the people in shows like The Golden Shot? ;) The very best of luck with it.

Hugs to all and take care in the heat.

Woo its a warm one. I've wrapped my parcels for posting and put a bundle of clothes in the garage ready for collection this evening.

My Dd is back from her music festival in Bilbao she was so impressed said its so pretty, hardly anyone spoke English which is great. She loves going to authentic destinations rather than those that are very anglicised, I do worry about her but she is a good mum and a hard worker so when she gets a few days to escape she deserves it.

Judi aren't they a worry, I sometime wonder whether I would have four kids if I'd have known what's worry they are, although I wouldn't be without them if you know what I mean!
Elona I'm already for the steam clean, I won't be in the movie, :rotfl: don't think my enormous bum would be a pretty sight my DIL to be however is a stunner:D

I've pulled some pork loin out for tea will probably marinate it Chinese style I will have salad and the boys can have sweet potatoes and salad with theirs, pud will be strawberries and ice cream, just the strawberries for me

    Morning All

Elona - A Steamy Movie, eh? Enjoy the experience.
Judi - So much worry, try to take a breath.
JackieO - Glad you enjoyed your day yesterday.

Had a lovely bbq at friends last night, there was just enough breeze to keep the midges away. Ate far too much and DD drove so I had a glass of wine too.

DD has sorted her car insurance this morning, phoned them telling them she had a quote from another company for less and they brought the premium down again so she saved £130!

Not much washing to do, I won £50 on the premium bonds at the weekend so need to go and pay the cheques in. Discovered I had paid the credit card twice last month so feel like I am quite well off at the moment (won't last long).

Not much planned today apart from work at 5, not as hot so should be more comfortable there. Take care. XX

    Julie

Bet my bum is bigger than yours ;) enjoy the filming but be prepared for possibly a "before" shot of someone struggling with tatty old mop and bucket.

    Lovely and sunny today.

Done all my 'admin' chores, balancing my accounts etc and ordered cat food online, getting cash back. Off for first physio sessions on my thumbs today, a legacy of 40+ years typing I guess.

Washing on the line, menu planned whilst sitting in the garden with the recipe books.

Had a lovely two days away with our caravan, only went about 20 miles but to a part of Kent we have never really explored, we could have been 200 miles away, just goes to show that we never discover our own doorstep properly do we?

Thoughts with those who are going through tough times.

Enjoy the warm weather, those that do, it helps my poor thumbs!

  • Another lovely day :j

Judi that is such sad news, My heart goes out to the poor family x

I freaked in the MRI scanner :o I really didn't realise how small it actually is and I am claustrophobic  The radiologist was lovely, he came and held my hand until I stopped shaking then he increased the oxygen so I had a breeze flowing over me and told me to close my eyes and he was talking to me all the time and I was fine after that, I hope I never have to have another one, but at least, i know how to cope if I do.
Mammogram came back as clear today so I am a happy bunny.
I have to transplant some seedlings so I will do that this evening.
Spotted some blossom on the pear tree today :j and the apple trees have fruit on as well. The cherry will be a while before it fruits, but that is ok, we know where there is a tree, along with damsons, cherry plums, a walnut tree and a chestnut tree :D MIL has a hazelnut that is way bigger than ours and she has said that we can have them, plus her neighbour has a russet tree and has said to take whatever MIL wants, she doesn't like russets, but I love them, so she is going to grab me some :D
I haven't really cooked since Friday apart from boiling new potatoes and eggs we have been living on prawns, tinned tuna, mackerel, eggs, cheese and mixed leaf salad from the garden, especially the spinach which has been lovely so far, we love it raw in our salads.
I am going to make some tortillas today and a loaf of parmesan cheese and sun dried tomato bread.......lovely with salad.

((((((Hugs)))))) to all the poorlies and those who just need one x
