So. When you stepped onto the plane to come here, how were you intending to support yourself til September when your course starts? Surely you must have had a plan in place.

From my savings. I didn't expect the benefits to support me. But I am not a fool to deny them either.

User man, if you read my post you will have noted that nowhere have I mentioned the fact that you are a foreigner, it does not to me make any difference if you are a Brit, an EU citizen or a citizen of the rest of the world.

What matters is you are attempting to obtain benifits to which you are not entiteled, I am totally happy for you to receive what you are entiteled too.

You posts in your previous threads suggest you need to think carefully about the best way forward for you.

That's all very well, but you've now been denied it. You tried and it didn't work, so you now need to use your savings afterall.

But you have been denied benefits! :wall:

As I said in an earlier post:

4 different people have told you why you are not entitled to benefits.

2 posters have given you the same link to information about the habitual residency test.
    Have you read this?

Well - have you read the link you've been given to learn more about the habitual residency test you have failed?

hi i was wondering if anyone could help.
im 22 and me and my husband were receiving income based job seekers allowance, i decided to op for the self-employment and i went on to the new enterprise allowance, i was referred to the princes trust and i got a £4000 loan from them. i am now taking part in some private courses to expand my business. before i went onto NEA i asked my advisor how would this affect my joint JSA claim and i was told we would be better off, she explained that our joint claim would change to a single claim for my husband and he would carry on signing on and i would get NEA for 26 week. but 4 weeks after signing off they stopped my husbands claim due to me being self employed. i still have not register for self employment and i am not earning much yet as i have just started and i am attending my training courses and trying to get my business running. is there anyway i could claim working tax credits? any help will be greatly appreciated, thanks

As you didn't expect benefits to support you and you've now been told you are not eligible for benefits, your expectations have not been disappointed and you've not lost anything.

    As Sylvia Plath said:
If you expect nothing from anybody, you’re never disappointed.

As previously advised, you will have to revert to Plan A and use your savings.

@sid187 - you're probably better off creating a new thread, your issue might get a bit lost in this one ;)
