Hi
I have broadband,tv and phone with virgin.it was 18mth contract which I have 6mths left.
I am moving to an area virgin or its affilated partners cannot provide the service to.
I wanted to take the service with me to new address but through no fault of mine virgin cannot provide it.they told me today that I have to pay a cancellation fee of £120 because its my fault im moving to an area they cannot provide services to. Has anyone else been told this?any ideas of how to get out of paying this?surely they are breaking the contract not.me!

Pray tell how are VM breaking their contract with you? You are breaking the contract by moving to an area without their service. They are not forcing you to move or withdrawing a service from the contracted address. You agreed a contract read the terms and conditions and live with the consequences.0

Yes - you may get it waived if you take their National (telephone/ADSL BB) service, TV is not available.
You agreed to take the service for the minimum term AT THAT ADDRESS. Even if you were able to transfer to another cable property - your minimum term would restart, so no real benefit.
They do not offer 100% coverage, and never have done. Your ET costs are simply the additional cost of moving - nothing more.0 -

Move address?
This topic really ought to be on a sticky, as it's asked about 3 times every week-always the same answer. No free lunch, and no free laptop0 -
I had to pay this , in the same circumstances , and really , NOTHING i could say would change their mind , and after all , why would it ! (i didnt want their phone service or anything so i guess it was just hard cheese!Never, under any circumstances, take a sleeping pill and a laxative on the same night.0
