Hi OP, hope you're feeling a little better today

If someone dismissed the emotional pain I was in when self harming as 'silly' or 'stupid' I would probably not have enough confidence to say anything at the time but I would damn sure be sending an angry letter!

I'm pretty sure comments from those people reflect views of only a small minority of unintelligent (and misinformed) people - not the general population.

I don't really have any advice on hiding scars (as I don't hide mine) - but I don't think you should feel ashamed of them; they're part of your journey. Battle scars like other people have said, and proof that you can go through a hellish time and still survive.

Good luck with whatever you choose to do x

I have a couple of scars on my wrists and forearms from baking. Mostly got mine from the wire in the oven. You get burnt - you then you jump, you pull your arm away but it rubs again creating a parallel line effect. I notice mine are less obvious now with the sunshine/ tan/ freckles.

Have you tried something like bio-oil to try and reduce them?
  • I don't have physical scars myself but it sounds like we may share some emotional scars.

From your picture, they actually look like stretch marks but obviously on an odd place.

I honestly wouldn't notice them, however you do so you need to do what will make you feel happy.

I like tattoos but remember they willf ade with age and your still young so you may not want them when your older.

Have you had counselling for how your currently feeling? It's fantastic that you haven't harmed yourself for such a long time but it sounds like your still caring a lot of hurt.

    Take care of yourself x
