10,000 Posts I've been Money Tipped!
I use Almat gel and can see now differance apart from the price to other more well known branded goods. Its cheap and works well and my clothes don't really get that mucky as they are changed daily.I used to swear by Persil but its priced itself out of my shopping basket The customer pays for the fancy advertising in the end so I'll stick to Almat
  • I've used Formil for years and found it excellent quality and great value.

Another recommendation for Lidl's Formil washing powder here - started using it a while ago now and wouldn't go back to any other brand! It's great and the big boxes last ages.

I'd also recommend their fabric softner (we haven't got any atm so I can't recall the name of it - sorry!), but it's the white one that I find is best, it's for sensitive washes (great for baby clothes) and seems to be their version of Comfort Pure - only it's a bigger bottle for less money and works just as well! Again, wouldn't use any other brand now.
  • i use Aldi Almat Non-Bio as i have eczema and worried it might not get things clean being non bio...but have been impressed with it. I have also used Almat bio tablets in the past and thought they were great.

The fabric softener is called Doussy - I use the white one too.

Have found that that the almat powder clogged up the drawer. Did clean very well though.Currently using gel I got elsewhere on offer ( am like cattie in that respect!), but will be going for the Almat gel next.
I use Almat colour and I am really happy with it, its as good if not better than the more expensive well known brands.
Regarding powder I have just had a new washer and the manual states to only use powder on a above 60 degree wash, so to use mine up I put the powder in a dowsing ball mix with a bit of hot water, stir to desolve then place it inside the machine.

I've recently started using Lidl Formil 2 in 1. I like it, I think it performs better than the Daz I used previously. I am a uni student so am fairly new to this scene. I find though that there is still a small amount of damp powder left in the drawer after some washes, am I putting too much in? I am in a very hard water area and put 165ml in.

Ive used Aldis Almat Bio powder for years now. I like the fact its almost unscented - I can smell Daz or Ariel users a mile away!
Almat cleans really well, doesn't fade colours and I have never had a prob with clogged drawers (probably because I only use about a third of the recommended dose).

I also have really sensitive skin and most other powders bring me out in a rash - this one doesn't.
