Its not my phone its my husbands 7 month old iphone5. For about the past 4 weeks his phone kept randomly turning off and restarting but itself (We were in the USA so couldnt do anything about it until we were home) But now it has turned off and will not turn on again. We went to a phone shop who said they can send it for repair but they will wipe all the data off the phone in the meantime. The guy in the shop told us to go away and backup all the data (my husband had never done this since getting it) anyway we have just tried that but because it wont even power on it wont work
is there any other way to get all the data off the phone before sending it off for repair? He uses it for business so he has loads od important details on it!! I told him heshould have backed it up ages ago but he didnt listen!! When you shake the phone you can just hear something heavy shaking around in it...doesnt sound too good!! Any help appreciated.

Have you tried signing into iTunes and I-clouding it ?
When my sons iPhone stopped working I am sure he did this. Then when he got his new phone he signed in to his account on it and everything appeared.0 -

Make an appointment with your nearest Apple Store Genius Bar, they will check and replace while you wait.

If you can't get to a Genius Bar, phone Apple and they will arrange a postal exchange which only takes a day or 2.

Is the right answer
My daughter in law took her iPhone into an apple shop and the conversation went something like this
D in law 'I think there is something wrong with my phone'
Shop assistant 'really? In that case have this new one'
Oh and if I remember correctly everything on your phone is automatically backed up on icloud or whatever its called0 -

If it's set up iClound backs up when the phone is locked, on mains and connected to WiFi.
If it's not been set up it may not have backed up.0 -
Have you tried connecting it to iTunes and see whether iTunes will recognise the phone? If it does then you are in luck as you'll be able to back up your phone.
Moreover, as the other posters have mentioned take the phone to the nearest Apple Store. Getting it repaired from our local shop will invalidate its warranty.0
