HELP IPHONE DAMAGED ABROAD- can I claim on travel insurance?
Hello,
Whilst sailing in Croatia my iPhone 5 was damaged by water and is absolutely ruined. I have travel insurance that covers loss a damage to personal items but it keeps asking me for the cost of the item. As its pay as you go I got the iPhone for free so there was no cost of the handset, this is so confusing!
HELP,!
Jess

Not as confusing as your post, PAYG with free handset? Let the people know about it.
And then even the short sighted that think their contract phone was free, it still has a replacement value.
The replacement value is easy to find.
So attain the price for a replacement equivalent model and submit that to the brokers/underwriters.0 -
Have you checked that it specifically covers you for water sports though?
As above, it's the replacement value, not the original cost.No free lunch, and no free laptop

Don't you mean on contract? You would put cost down as what apple store has it as0
-
it doesn't really matter how much you paid for it, what matters is how much it will cost to replace0
-
go onto the apple site see how much a new i phone 5 costs then send them that price which it will cost to replace it and ask them to credit you with that amount less excess, then buy a new phone through apple and it will be unlocked0
