Orange - Marking my File - My Fault??

Hey guys,
Wondering if anyone who knows about this stuff can help. I have been protecting my credit file for a while Never missed a payment and monitor regularly. It appears Orange have put a mark on my file due to late payment.

Can I get this overturned:

What happened was in my - someone from Orange "accidentally" cancelled my account without my authorisation - got all the welcome texts to my phone. I called up and was told by customer services someone accidentally did this, and the account was re-instated as it was before.

I had to go abroad for work - using my Orange phone which I had unlocked when I took the contract out over 1.5 years ago as my emergency contact and for any credit cards that I have blocked. I found that my international service was barred. When I got back to the UK called Orange and they re-enabled - trying to charge me £150 deposit despite already having it - not even a apology.

My bill came through, and was £240 - despite checking several times with customer services - the charge was never reversed. I asked for the bill to be recalculated, but was told that I would have to pay this and get a credit.

Fed up with Orange "service" I then proceeded to actually cancel my account and port out my number. I confirmed with customer services what about my bills. The incorrect bill got refunded and was told to wait for my final bill.

A month after cancelling still had nothing, except a text saying my bill is online - althrough I cant login as I am no longer a customer. Call customer services asked for a paper bill, told 7-10 days. 10 days still no bill, called again, told it has been ordered agai nand to wait 7-10 days. Still no bill... called again...... complained, told a manger callback. didnt happen. Called back again a day or so, told bill sent.... still no bill..

Anyway finally get a bill and then pay it - only to find out Orange have marked me as being 1 month late. Can they do this? As not being a customer for over 2 months I have called them ALOT (about 25-30 times) to check up on stuff and to find out whats going on. Even customer service guys agree I have called a lot considering I am not with them anymore.

Sort of stuck now, with a bad mark, and I don't see how I could of prevented this anymore. I hope anyone thinking of joining Orange, EE or t-mobile do their research before committing - the company's service has gone down hill recently.

Any help or advice is greatly appreciated!

Thanks guys! you Rock!

sympathies, I'm just about to post my problem re no account access after porting number.

I'm afraid my only advice is retrospective, don't use Orange, and they seem worse since becoming EE. It was my first and last time.
