Sun Holidays - Butlins Minehead query

I'd prefer a eppartment. I honestly didn't see the option, have to wait a few weeks for confirmation I guesse x

When you get your confirmation email from Butlins, which should be with you within a week, you can phone and ask how much it will cost to upgrade, change etc. My daughter paid £27 to get an extra bedroom in a standard apt at Bognor in July and I have paid an extra £35 to go from standard apt to a silver bungalow at Minehead in September.

The rooms are for people who have booked a meal deal as they don't have a kitchen.

Ill just have to wait and give them a call then. Do you know how long it usually takes for the confirmation to come through. I really hope it's an apartment now and not a room: /

i just looked back at my emails from the last promo

booked with sun on 18th april and got confirmation from sun that day - confirmation said -standard

got email from butlins on 24 april - said - self catering standard room 2 bed


I am in the same dilema as just booked Butlins through Breakfree but did not get a choice of room or self catering .....so will argue with them that i want self catering as that is what i presumed as that is what you get with all the other sites ie caravans....

arghh - wish i had booked through sun now as i know the choice comes up there!

I booked twice through Breakfree and was given an apartments both times. As I mentioned, the rooms don't have a kitchen and are for people who have a dining plan option. Unless you have opted for that they have to give you an apartment as you can't cook otherwise.

I booked through the sun and the only option is half board or not, if I said no to HB surely I would get an apt?

We booked a Sun 4-day break in Minehead, standard apartment, for the end of August for 4 people (3 adults & child).

We have since upgraded from Standard to Silver, and from a 2-bed into a 3-bed.

Complete with the underoccupancy, power charge, passes etc the upgrade has cost us an additional £250. But considering it's school holidays & bank holiday week, I''m happy to pay that.

As far as I'm aware, if you picked the half board option you will just get rooms. If you chose self catering then you have an apartment, with cooking facilities. At least that's how it works if you book with them direct. If you are catering for yourselves you have to have a kitchen which = apartment. Don't get too excited though, they're not that big, but perfectly decent enough.
