TV - no signal

Hi

I wonder if anyone can help. I've just moved into a new flat and plugged in the TV to the aerial and it says 'no signal'. It's a Marks and Spencers MS1551DVB001 TV which they no longer sell. I don't have the instructions and can't find them online either. Could anybody help?

It could be that you have plugged in to the aerial socket and the socket actually goes nowhere. Try plugging your TV in to a socket that you know works. Maybe a neighbour's.

And then plug a known working TV into the aerial socket.
The fact that you have an aerial socket doesn't mean that it's connected to anything, or that there is even an aerial. Have you checked with the neighbours/management company?
If the TV was working at the previous location (and you haven't dropped it during the move) then the problem is the aerial feed, not the TV.

If you have moved areas, the TV would most likely need retuned. Look for Menu on the remote and then installation or similar. Look for the section that will start the automatic tuning.

Maplin sells a DVB signal detector. Plug it in and the display tells you if there is one or more transmissions available. £15 or thereabouts.
