    Ok so I have my basic bank account almost sorted now.

    I spoke to some debt people and they told me to send the budget I did with them (therefore proving I can't afford to pay much) to the bank with a letter offering them a small amount each month.

    I don't think they'll listen though. They put me in that arrangement of £100 a month and said i can't default on it.

    They did push me into a corner though my wages were about to go in and I have bills to pay it was too late to change accounts and they wouldn't reinstate it unless I agreeed to what they wanted.

    Incidentally the budget I did with te debt advice came out almost the same as the one I did by myself. The bank must have a funny calculator that had me with £170 a month more left over.

    Ok so I daftly took on the first debt management company that phoned (dfh) then I double checked changed my mind and phoned them they say the payment has gone through ten days to return to thebank leaving me with no money to pay debts. Praying on the stressed and paniky makes them money I guess!
    I filled in some forms for stepchange i don't know what happens next. They are sending me a pack.

    DFH were being quite rude about stepchange I assume its because they wanted my money. Luckily I haven't defaulted on any payments yet (one is due tommorow I have just enough to pay. Others are not due till august so i should be ok. The bank said that I'm to phone them if its not returned. (I hope I get it back)

    Just spoke to one of my debters and theres down to £163! My catalogue is only £300 and my CC is now £500 (was £400 till the bank cut me off) I was paying it off. It was getting smaller not bigger. 2 of them would have been gone by the new year. and Ctax being only 10 months the extra was going to pay off the rest and I was going to start on my o/draft.

    Why couldn't the bank just wait till January? I even offered them a small amount a month (£30) and then to up it to they amount they wanted in the new year.

    ARRRrrrrrgh (sorry recently single with no friends and needed a good rant)

    :mad::mad::mad::mad:
    Its payday and i'm skint already. ( I did insist on spending £6 on something for me my only thing for the month).
    And breathe.

    Surely whether you are paying off your overdraft or you credit cards you are still reducing your debts and will be debt free in time, does it make a lot of difference which order they are paid off in?

    The difference is is that I'm paying £90 in total now. As of next month the bank want to add another £160 onto that which makes more outgoings than incomings before i've paid all my bills. So either someone compromises or I default on some of it.
