Is it? If the contract is binding to both parties, then it's all upto the OP.

And what are you going to do to make it stick?

Spend ££££'s and months of waiting to take it to court?

They may have sold it online and just want rid of you.

Yeah that makes a lot of sense - instead of saying 'sorry the car was sold online by mistake' they lie and say 'sorry, we're going to make ourselves look really stupid here but we've priced the car wrong and if you really want it the real price is £14995. Oh you do want it at the real price? Oh sh it'

    Cheers Paul for the advise.

The last thing I want is to bring them to court over £2.5k which I could just call the deal off. no hassle no bother.

Just thought I asked if anyone has encountered the same problem as me before and could give me some pointers on what i could do to make them honour the agreement which I can conclude, there is almost nothing i can do.

speaking of which, a bit off topic here. the car i'm trying to buy off is believed to be an ex-hire car. In your experiences, does an ex-hire car give any sort of problem? eg: resale value

Most will be ex lease cars at that age. Shouldnt be a problem.

Show them the link to the same car at £13495 ask them to price match it OR walk away and buy elsewhere.

They would soon refuse your deposit under the contract if you wanted to change your mind.
I think I would be asking them if they wanted to buy you out of the contract, if not you will be expecting it to be fulfilled.
I would certainly be wanting more than the deposit back, they have signed a contract, they are duty bound to fulfil that contract like it or not.
They would have been expecting you to do so had they not sold it elsewhere.
If you did not pay the balance they would say kiss your deposit goodbye.
Call them up and ask them to make an offer to buy out the contact with a kill fee.
    Be happy...;)

They'll point out that the 'same car' is a 2011 car whereas the OP is trying to buy a 2012 car.
