Mobile phone/ipad insurance - recommendations?

Previous to selling our house, our iphones/ipads were covered by contents insurance against accidently damage/loss anywhere. Now we've moved in with parents for 6-12 months, I can't get the same cover so am looking for a stand alone policy that will cover 1 iPhone 5, 3 iPads against accidental damage/theft/loss worldwide.

I'd rather pay slightly more for a premium, no fuss, no hassle cover - i.e. when I was with Carphone Warehouse with my iPhone 4 previously, I dropped and smashed my iPhone screen and they jsut replaced the phone in 48 hours. We do take our phones/ipads on holiday but have holiday insurance that covers theft/loss, just not accidental damage I guess.

Any recommendations? Or given how many devices we have, am I better off putting £40 in an account each month to "self-insure" and paying any "claim" myself?

Yes but they have some wierd policy with Saga that won't let me bump up the accidental damage outside of the home. Our other stuff inside the home is covered.

Personally I would go the self insure route. I looked into standalone insurance for our gadgets earlier this year, and when you read the small print of the policies, and hear other people's experiences of making claims, it just doesn't add up to value for money.

I ended up putting £100 in an account, then adding £10 per month. If nothing untoward happens to my S2, Hubby's note 2, or son's galaxy tab over the course of the year, I'm £220 quid up, towards a replacement when it becomes necessary. If I'd tried to cover them with a policy, I'd be at least £120 down, and would probably have had all the hassle of fighting with an insurance company who accuse you of negligence if something did happen to one of the devices.

That said, might it be worth you looking at some of the bank accounts that offer mobile phone cover in with their monthly fees.
I try not to get too stressed out on the forum. I won't argue, i'll just leave a thread if you don't like what I say. :)

i agree with Easy in most cases i stand the risk myself .
But it all depends upon the price and the get out clauses and the excess.
