Keeping Mobile Number from 3 PAYG to 3 Contract

Is it possible to transfer my PAYG Mobile number on the 3 network onto a 3 network contract phone?

I am taking over my son's mobile contract and I don't want to retain his number because of all his contacts.

It may be possible to port a 3 payg over a existing 3 contract, that position depends on 3 company policy.

Failing that get a payg o2 sim port to that then port to 3, should take a few days as Ofcom rule next working day on the transfer, so avoid giving PAC on a Friday as any problems need to wait till following Monday. Remember public holidays are not working days too.

o2 seem best of a bad bunch, Voda are hopeless (outsourcing?), Orange require a top up before you port back out (assume tmob are same/similar now a EE sister company)
SO... now England its the Scots turn to say dont leave the UK, stay in Europe with us in the UK, dont let the tories fool you like they did us with empty lies... You will be leaving the UK aswell as Europe ;)

If I went down that route wouldn't the new payg o2 sim have to be credited before a pac number is released?

No thats a Orange policy (rip off) like I stated ABOVE^Get a payg sim you dont even need to open pack, call customer service with number on back sim pack give PAC, when transfers over call o2 and say i never tested the network signal until after the PAC in as the packet was unopen, I have no signal at home can I get a PAC please.
